Ireland could write its history in Belfast. India, the team that has two T20 World Cup titles back in their trophy cabinet, surprisingly finds itself in a vulnerable stage against the lower-ranked team.
From losing two openers in the opening over of the innings to Ishan Kishan's run out under pressure, all of these happened to surprise every cricket fan.
Miscommunication with Tilak Varma causes Ishan Kishan's run-out
Ahead of the match, and ahead of the series as well, no one might have thought that Ireland would be able to defeat India. They defeated the Men in Blue in the first of the 2-match series, and now, is smelling another victory.
India lost Ishan as their fourth batter of the line-up inside the fifth over of the second innings, for only 35 runs on the scoreboard. Due to a miscommunication with Tilak Varma, who was on strike then, Ishan lost his wicket.

Ishan Kishan could have been the difference-maker in the match
The early dismal innings of Samju Samson, Abhishek Sharma, and the skipper Shreyas Iyer put Team India in a slump in a must-win match. The target is not massive, but the Indian batting line-up had a shaky start. Ireland pacer, Jai Moondra, who has a connection with India, stemmed the top order of the Indian batting order, dismissing Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma in the opening over of the innings, and then the scalp of Shreyas Iyer.
As the key batters of the line-up were gone, Ishan Kishan walked out with massive responsibilities on his shoulders. As one of the inform batters of the team, he could have done something significant with the bat, but did not get the chance to test his form because of the runout.
Ross Adair's direct throw dismantled the bails off the stumps
Ishan Kishan took off from his crease to score a single, while Tilak was on his side, safe. The reaction from Ishan came out of desperation as the team was lacking runs inside the initial stage of the innings. The keeper-batter departed after scoring only 12 runs from 11 runs with a 4.
He was more than halfway when the Irish fielder, Ross Adair, collected the ball at the backward point region. Seeing Ishan far from the safe zone, Adair locked in his target and threw the ball at the non-striker's end. A direct hit, Ishan Kishan was nowhere near the crease.
The batting collapse is an alarming sign for the Indian cricket team. Not once, but twice in the series, the batting line-up has misfired. Ahead of the crucial series against England, the Indian team management, led by the head coach Gautam Gambhir, will have to address the issue so that they can rectify themselves before facing the Three Lions.
