Pakistan-born USA pacer Ali Khan had turned his rejection of a travel visa to India into a huge fiasco, but reports claim that such delays are pretty obvious for people with Pakistani passports, since it doesn't fall under the embassy's jurisdiction and goes right under the wing of the external ministry. Even the USA management has reportedly thrashed the paceman for the dramatic controversy.
Since Pakistan are not travelling to India for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup and have all their matches either scheduled in Sri Lanka or bound to be shifted to Sri Lanka for the matches they will play after they qualify for the next stage of the competition, the players from other nations but having an origin from Pakistan, have started creating controversies and spreading anti-India propaganda.
It has been reported for a long time that ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 in India, several players from Oman, Italy, the USA, Canada, and such teams have been facing Visa denials, but it was not until the USA pacer Ali Khan was denied a visa that this turned into such a huge matter of discussion.
Pakistan-born USA pacer Ali Khan stirs up fresh controversy after his Indian visa gets denied
Ali Khan, the Pakistan-born USA team fast bowler, was denied an Indian visa for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup in India. This has posed an uncertainty on his arrival in India for the matches in the ICC T20 World Cup.
The 35-year-old, who was born in Pakistan's Punjab region, shared the update on his Instagram story and captioned it as, "India visa denied but KFC for the win." The USA have not yet announced their squad officially, but Ali Khan is supposed to be a part of the squad.
He was seen playing for the Gulf Giants this season of the ILT20 in 2025-26. In 99 T20 matches of his career, he has picked 93 wickets and is not a toddler to not know these rules, but he has faced them several times in his career. Yet the player aimed to create a controversy from the circumstances.
Visa delay is part of the usual Indian official procedure for players with a Pakistan visa
Amid so many visas being either rejected or put on hold, a detailed preview of these circumstances needs to come to the surface. RevSportz reporter Rohit Juglan has mentioned every detail needed to understand the scheme of things.
"Whenever someone goes to apply for a visa at a country's embassy, they ask about the person's country of origin or where their parents reside. For India and Pakistan, the case has always been the same. Usman Khawaja, Ali Khan or Rehman Ahmed, whatever your name, if your place of origin is in Pakistan or your parents are from the country, then the Indian embassy does not have the jurisdiction to grant a direct visa," Juglan clarified the scenario of India and Pakistan visa troubles.
"Such people are asked to submit their documents, and the documents are forwarded to the external affairs ministry, and a visa cannot be granted until clearance from the government ministry. These are treated under special circumstances, and such powers are not within the embassy's control," he continued.
USA management slammed Ali Khan for spreading anti-India propaganda
The same, as mentioned above, was informed to pacer Ali Khan from the Indian embassy; however, the bowler completely shifted the momentum and gave rise to massive propaganda.
As per Juglan, even the USA team management has slammed Ali Khan for the misconduct and his evil motives behind summing up the very casual happening in the form of a controversy.
The message seems very clear: that the visas have only been denied for now; they have been delayed and will be delivered after clearance from the External ministries of India, who might be running background checks on the passports of Pakistani origin, considering the tensions between the two nations.
