Australia National Cricket Team captain Pat Cummins and England National Cricket Team star batsman Harry Brook were sold for a hefty amount at the mock auction organized by JioCinema a day before the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 auction.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 auction is all set to be held on December 19 at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai and a total of 333 cricketers are set to feature in the auction. Of the 333 cricketers, 214 are from India, 119 are from overseas among which 2 are from associate nations.

The number of capped players in the auction is 116 while there are 215 uncapped players and 2 players from associate nations. Even though 333 players are set to go under the hammer only 77 of them could be acquired as only those many slots are available in the 10 IPL franchises and among those 30 slots are for overseas players.

Also, 23 players have decided to set their base price as INR 2 crore for the IPL 2024 auction while 13 players have placed them in the INR 1.5 crore bracket.

Harry Brook is one of the big names that is set to go under the hammer on December 19. He is regarded as the next big thing in England cricket and in a short period of time, the 24-year-old has established himself as an all-format cricketer.

He was one of the most expensive players in the IPL 2023 auction as he was acquired by the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for a whopping INR 13.25 crore. However, Harry Brook was not able to deliver a good performance and was released by the franchise just after one season.

Brook played 11 matches in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 and scored 190 runs at an average of 21.11 and a strike rate of 123.38. Out of his 190 runs in the season, 100 came in one game itself which shows how poor debut season the batsman had.

At the mock auction on JioCinema, former India National Cricket Team wicketkeeper-batter Parthiv Patel was representing Gujarat Titans (GT) and he acquired the batsman for INR 9.5 crore.

Pat Cummins Goes For INR 17.5 Crore

Pat Cummins is regarded as one of the best bowlers in the world especially in the longer formats of the game. Overall, he has played 42 matches in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and has bagged 45 wickets at an average of 30.16, an economy of 8.54, and a strike rate of 21.18.
