Pat Cummins calls himself Abhishek Sharma's 'Fanboy' after SRH batter's 141 vs PBKS

Pat Cummins-led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) faced off against Shreyas Iyer-led Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the 27th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Saturday, April 12.
Team Sunrisers Hyderabad won the IPL 2025 match against Team Punjab Kings by 8 wickets at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal, Hyderabad.

Bowling first in the match, Sunrisers Hyderabad had a terrible outing as all the bowlers were taken to the cleaners by the PBKS batters and they posted a colossal total of 245/6 on the board.
Chasing the target, Abhishek Sharma (141) hit a sensational century while Travis Head (66) blasted an amazing half-century before Heinrich Klaasen and Ishan Kishan completed the run-chase in 18.3 overs.
Speaking during the post-match presentation ceremony, Pat Cummins said that the pitch made for the SRH vs PBKS was a great one as it suited their style. He said:
"Amazing. It suits our style, and we know we are gonna get it. It's a good wicket and the ball pings around here."

Being a bowler himself, Pat Cummins was surprised that his team was feeling semi-confident chasing the colossal score. He stated:
"Any over under 10 you feel like a big win as a bowler. It's kind of crazy that you feel semi-confident chasing that score."
Pat Cummins further lauded Abhishek Sharma for his exceptional batting and labeled himself as a fan of the Indian batter. He elaborated:
"Pretty big fan of his (Abhishek) batting. We didn't want to change the recipe. The batting group played quite a bit last year and we are confident of their abilities. They (the fans) are amazing, always waving the flags and great atmosphere."
How did SRH perform in the previous IPL match against PBKS?
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) registered a thrilling four-wicket win over Punjab Kings (PBKS) at home in their previous Indian Premier League clash.
After being invited to bowl first in the match, SRH had a tough time against PBKS’ explosive batting unit and they ended up conceding 214 runs. T Natarajan was the standout bowler with his figures of 2/33, while Pat Cummins and Viyaskanth chipped in with a wicket each.
Chasing the target, SRH lost Travis Head for a golden duck on the very first delivery. But Abhishek Sharma stabilized the innings with a brilliant 66 off just 28 balls. He added a crucial 72 runs with Rahul Tripathi in just 29 balls that put the home team in a dominant position.
Tripathi chipped in with 33 off 18, and Nitish Kumar Reddy contributed 37 off 25. With 86 runs still needed when Abhishek fell, Heinrich Klaasen played a sensational knock of 42 off 26, before Abdul Samad and Sanvir Singh completed the chase in 19.1 overs.
