Australia captain Pat Cummins revealed how the Ahmedabad crowd went silent after he dismissed Virat Kohli in the ICC World Cup 2023 final. Pat Cummins mentioned that it was as quiet as a library even with millions of people inside the stadium.
Pat Cummins dismissed Virat Kohli during the India vs Australia ICC World Cup 2023 final. Just after Kohli reached his fifty, Cummins bowled a brilliant delivery which hit the stumps after Kohli got an edge. Kohli scored 54 runs before losing his wicket.

While speaking to the Sydney Morning Herald, Pat Cummins shared the scenario after Virat Kohli’s dismissal in the match. He said that Steve Smith asked them to listen to the crowd, which was as silent as a library. Cummins said that witnessing over 1 lakh people going silent was one of the moments that he will remember for a long time.
“After Virat Kohli’s wicket, we’re in the huddle and Steven Smith said ‘boys, listen to the crowd’. We just took a moment of pause, it was as quiet as a library. 1,00,000 Indians were there yet so quiet. I’ll savor that moment for a long time”, Pat Cummins said.
Kohli’s wicket was a crucial breakthrough for Australia in the match. After losing 3 wickets, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul had set up a key partnership between them. Kohli reached his half-century and was looking to go big. Pat Cummins picked up 2 wickets in the match.
Notably, he had slammed a century in the semi-final. He finished as the highest run-getter in the tournament and won the player of the tournament award. Kohli slammed 3 centuries and 6 half-centuries in the tournament.
