Pat Cummins, the Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper, was asked about his opinion as the Narendra Modi Stadium was finalised for the finals, and it remains one of Pat Cummins' favourite tracks.
Pat Cummins was recently seen at the launch event of the New Balance Grey Days, and he spoke about many aspects related to this season of the IPL. Cummins played a fine hand in SRH's successful campaign throughout this season, as the captain led them to their second final in three seasons.
Sunrisers are currently third on the IPL points table and have managed 16 points after having won eight matches this season, and are still eyeing a win in their final league match of the season to advance into the Top 2 positions in the points table.
It's a great stadium- Pat Cummins' ultimate verdict on the Narendra Modi Stadium
Recently, during the show, Cummins was asked about his opinion on the massive switch of the venue for the IPL 2026 final. The match was originally destined to be played at some other place; however, it is likely to be played at the largest cricket facility in India.
Pat Cummins has played a number of times at this venue, including the famous ICC ODI World Cup final in 2023, where he led the Aussies to a massive World Cup triumph against the in-form Indian side. He revealed he loved this venue while also calling it a tricky enough wicket.
"I've played there a few times; it feels like I know that ground quite well. We played there the other day, and it feels like a tricky wicket. But it's a great stadium," said Pat Cummins. However, SRH were bowled out for just 86 runs, the last time Sunrisers played at this venue.
Super aggressive, no inhibition: Cummins lauds Vaibhav Sooryavanshi for his sheer dominance with the bat
Everyone in India has been widely praising Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's record in IPL 2026. The way the youngster has been scoring runs has left everyone baffled. His astonishing knock against LSG almost sealed a spot for RR in the playoffs.
He has amassed 579 runs in the season from 13 appearances with a whopping strike rate closing in on 250. He was nearing a third century in the IPL and is nearing Chris Gayle's massive six-hitting record in the IPL. With 53 sixes, he is now 7 sixes away from breaking Gayle's record.
"He looks like a real talent. I love the way he goes about it—super aggressive, no inhibition. He got a hundred against us and batted fantastically well," said the veteran SRH skipper on the 15-year-old Indian superstar.
Pat Cummins reveals he stayed out of Ishan Kishan's way during his captaincy days
During the same show, Pat Cummins was also asked about his contributions to Ishan Kishan's pivotal success as the skipper of the SRH side and his appointment as the stand-in replacement for the Sunrisers captain.
After some losses in the season initially, he helped them bounce back with a massive change in strategy where he included two young uncapped pacers to the side, thus bolstering their pace attack.
Cummins revealed that he tried to stay out of Ishan Kishan's way during his captaincy stint, except for the times when he needed them. He also said that the boys loved him, and he had faith in Kishan's skills as the captain of the side, citing his record in domestic cricket.
