Pat Cummins and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have suffered a double blow in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026). After suffering a crushing defeat against the Gujarat Titans at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 12, SRH was punished by the IPL Governing Council.
On Wednesday, May 13, Pat Cummins was fined INR 12 lakh for maintaining a slow over rate during the high-pressure IPL 2026 encounter in Ahmedabad. The Sunrisers Hyderabad, led by the Australian skipper, breached Article 2.22 of the IPL Code of Conduct.

Pat Cummins fined INR 12 lakh after SRH's breach of IPL Code of Conduct during GT match in IPL 2026
The IPL stated in an official media release: “Pat Cummins, captain, Sunrisers Hyderabad, has been fined after his team maintained a slow over rate during Match No. 56 of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 against the Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. As this was his team’s first offense of the season under Article 2.22 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct, which pertains to minimum over-rate offenses, Cummins was fined INR 12 lakhs.”
