Punjab Kings (PBKS) pacer Harshal Patel was nothing short of exceptional with the ball in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 game against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The 53rd game of the tournament between the teams is underway at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala.

Harshal Patel bowled a magnificent spell of fast bowling in the ongoing game against Chennai Super Kings. The fast bowler was spot-on with his skills and made sure that he put his team in the top position at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala.

One of the highlights of his spell was the sensational death bowling. He made Chennai Super Kings batters look clueless with his slower balls and made sure that he helped his team restrict the opposition to a low total. He also picked up two wickets in the last over that he bowled.

One among them was Shardul Thakur, Harshal Patel exhibited brilliant skills and outfoxed the batter with the brilliant slower ball. The pacer bowled a slower ball off-cutter that dipped under the bat. The CSK batter tried to charge but couldn't connect as the ball went on to crash into the stumps.

Harshal Patel, however, didn't stop there as on the very next ball he sent MS Dhoni packing for a golden duck. He delivered another slower ball that was off-cutter and on the stumps that dipped on. MS Dhoni had no clue about it as he tried to bring his bat down. The ball went past the weak swipe to the leg and the off-stump was pegged back.

Harshal Patel returned with the figures of 3/23 in his four overs. The pacer put Chennai Super Kings bowlers under pressure. Apart from him, Rahul Chahar also picked three wickets whereas Arshdeep Singh and Sam Curran picked one wicket each.

I look at if I've been able to execute what I've wanted to - Harshal Patel

Ahead of the game, Harshal Patel talked about his preparations for the IPL and stated that he has been trying to execute what he wanted to. While talking about the game, he stated:

"The IPL) Has been very fruitful. Cricket is an instrument through which I experience life. Everyone is getting hit in this IPL. I look at if I've been able to execute what I've wanted to and if I've been able to have an impact on the game, if I've been able to do those two things then it doesn't matter what the scoreboard says.

"There's no set rule, everyone gives their input but it's up to you to decide when you're running up. According to me it's a flaw in your mindset if you try to do something new when you're already doing well and that's what I try to avoid. Expect there to be some pace and bounce but it usually plays true. The game will probably finish before the dew sets in. I think we'll need to hit a hard length," he concluded.
