Liam Livingstone had an animated celebration after dismissing Shubman Gill in the ongoing game between Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, Chandigarh.

With only 142 runs to defend, PBKS needed quick wickets. Arshdeep Singh gave the home side the first breakthrough by dismissing Wriddhiman Saha in the fourth over. The veteran wicketkeeper-batsman departed after scoring 13 runs and sharing a 25-run stand with captain Gill.

Gill and Sai Sudharsan, however, did not let PBKS make further inroads after the early breakthrough. The duo played cautiously and took the score past the 50-run mark. However, before they could bat GT to a strong position, Liam Livingstone broke the partnership to give PBKS a much-needed breakthrough.

In the tenth over, the England star dismissed Gill for 35 runs. The GT skipper's knock came off 29 balls and was studded with five fours. The right-handed batsman lofted the delivery from Liam Livingstone towards long-off but could not clear the boundary. Kagiso Rabada took an easy catch at long-off.

And as soon as Rabada completed the catch, Liam Livingstone celebrated the dismissal in a wild fashion. The England star let out a huge roar and was also seen roaring at Gill's face as the latter was walking back to the dressing room.

Talking about the game, GT were 89 for 3 in the 14th over at the time of writing this report. After dismissing Gill, Liam Livingstone clean-bowled David Miller for 4 to reduce GT to 77 for 3. Earlier in the game, PBKS were bowled out for 142 runs.

At one stage, PBKS were reeling at 99 for 7 before a 29-run knock from Harpreet Brar helped them post a respectable total. For GT, spinner Sai Kishore starred with the ball, taking 4 for 33. Speaking after the innings, the Tamil Nadu ace said:

"Definitely tried to play for the team, grateful for the opportunity given today. I gave my 120%, luckily it paid off. I felt I should slow it down on this pitch, instinct told me that was a better pace to bowl at.

"After the first two balls I realized bowling into the wicket is the way to go on this pitch and just tried to vary the pace and keep it tight," he added.
