PBKS vs MI: "Jasprit Bumrah is MVP" - Twitter reacts as Mumbai Indians win nail-biter against Punjab Kings

Fans on Twitter reacted after Mumbai Indians defeated Punjab Kings by 9 runs in the 33rd game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The game between the two teams took place at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh on Thursday (18th April).

Mumbai Indians were asked to bat first and they had a decent outing with the bat. Even though they lost Ishan Kishan early, Rohit Sharma (36) and Suryakumar Yadav (78) batted magnificently well and put their team in the dominating position in Chandigarh.

Tilak Varma (33*) also played a vital knock in the order that powered Mumbai Indians to the big total. The Hardik Pandya-led ended with a total of 192 runs. For Punjab Kings, Harshal Patel was the pick of the bowlers with his figures of 3/31.

Mumbai then were magnificent with the ball as they picked early wickets and made Punjab Kings' batter look clueless. Jasprit Bumrah and Gelard Coetzee combined and left the opposition team tottering at 77/6 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh on Thursday (18th April).

However, there was a twist in the tale as Shashank Singh (41) and Ashutosh Sharma (61) brought their team back into the game with their sensational batting display. They tilted the game in their team's favor.

Ashutosh Sharma in the end gave a real scare to the Mumbai bowlers but the Hardik Pandya-led side held their nerves well in the end and won the game by 9 runs. With the win, they moved 7th on the points table in the IPL 2024.
