The No-Objection Certificate (NOC) has become a major talking point in the Pakistan cricket fraternity once again. In the past, the PCB and the players have often found themselves at odds over the issue.

While the PCB has tried to limit the players' participation in T20 leagues, the players have tried to participate in as many leagues as they can. Both parties have not really managed to reach a common ground so far.

The PCB has now decided to strictly enforce its two-NOCs policy for T20 leagues after Pakistan's poor show at the T20 World Cup. The policy puts a cap on the number of leagues the players can play in a year. No player can now play in more than two leagues in a year.

The Men in Green bowed out of the competition at the group stage after suffering defeats against the USA and India. Before the T20 World Cup, they had also lost the series in England in addition to losing a game against Ireland.

PCB hands out NOCs to 12 players:

On Tuesday (July 2), the PCB announced that they had handed out NOCs to 12 players to participate in overseas tournaments. Opening batsman Fakhar Zaman has got the NOC to play in the Caribbean Premier League from August 29th to October 6th.

On the other hand, left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir League has got the green light to play in County Cricket from July 4th to July 20th. Spinner Abrar Ahmed and pacers Haris Rauf and Zaman Khan have got the NOCs to play in the forthcoming second edition of the Major League Cricket.

Mohammad Haris, Mohammad Hasnain, Salman Ali Agha, and Shadab Khan will all participate in the Lanka Premier League from July 1st to July 21st while Sharjeel Khan and Sohaib Maqsood have got permission to play in the World Championship of Legends, scheduled from July 3rd to July 13th. Usama Mir will be participating in The Hundred, scheduled from July 23rd to August 20th.

The development comes just days after Azam Khan and Saim Ayub were denied NOCs to play in the CPL even though both of them have been retained by their teams. Both players were part of the Pakistan squad for the T20 World Cup and failed to impress in the competition.
