In a recent post made by former Pakistani women's cricketer Sana Mir, she engaged in a disagreement with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The PCB had responded, describing the post as inaccurate.

They have also emphasized that Sana Mir should have verified her facts herself before making any such claims in public. The former Pakistani captain and Hall of Famer, Sana Mir, had alleged that the board suggested a too-packed schedule for the national team.

To these allegations, the PCB responded that it is completely their responsibility to safeguard the physical as well as the mental well-being of their female cricketers.

The PCB official confirmed that the players from 7th July to 2nd November will be involved in two training camps, followed by multiple bilateral series and a demanding schedule of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2025, where 7 matches will be played in the group before they make it to the knockouts.

Sana Mir's misinformation rectified by PCB

The PCB spokesperson claimed that the former Pakistani skipper also claimed in her social media post that the domestic 50-over tournament will be held at the same time as the ICC Women's ODI World Cup 2025.

However, this is where the PCB has differed in their opinion with the former cricketer, as they have shared the facts with her. The ICC Women's Cricket World Cup is to conclude on the 2nd of November, while the National Women's One-Day Tournament is scheduled to be held in Karachi from the 10th of November.

Hence, it is clear that the two tournaments do not clash with each other and also have a decent cool-off period of one week between the two events.

"The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has responded to a social media post by former women cricketer Sana Mir, describing it as factually inaccurate. The Board emphasised that Sana Mir should have verified her facts before making public comments," Pakistan Cricket Board stated.

"The PCB spokesperson said that Sana Mir also claimed that the domestic 50-over tournament would be held “at the same time when the ODI World Cup is happening?”. The Board official noted that this assertion is factually incorrect as the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup will take place from September 30 to November 2, 2025. The National Women’s One-Day Tournament is scheduled to be held in Karachi from November 10 to 23, 2025, with the support period beginning on 6 November, which is well after the conclusion of the World Cup."

PCB initiates preparations for the upcoming World Cup

As far as the preparations for the upcoming ICC Women's Cricket World Cup are concerned, the PCB has provided a major update on that as well.

They have reportedly initiated a 25-day fitness and skills camp in Karachi, which includes several practice games to be played in the 50-over format. The focus will be intensified on the game once the squad returns from its tour of Ireland on the 12th of August.

They have also scheduled a 3-match home ODI series against the Proteas women, which has been scheduled to start on the 25th of August. After the conclusion of the series, they will undergo some rigorous training and will also play warm-up games against Sri Lanka and Sri Lanka A to better their skills ahead of the 50-over World Cup.

Sana Mir was included in the ICC Hall of Fame in 2025

The cricket personality being talked about here in this article is a big name in Pakistan Women's Cricket. Earlier this year, Sana Mir was among the 7 players (5 men and 2 women) who were inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame.

Among several great cricket personalities like MS Dhoni and Graeme Smith, Sana Mir became the first Pakistani woman cricketer to make it to the ICC Hall of Fame. She remains an inspiration for several young women cricketers from the province of Pakistan.
