PCB’s Interim Management Committee Gets Extension; Set To Reintroduce 2014 Board's Constitution

Pakistan Cricket Board Interim management committee has got an extension of two months from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. It is learned that the Inter-provincial coordination (IPC) ministry, which acts as a conduit between the board and government, favored the extension for four weeks.

The Inter-provincial coordination has also asked the prime minister to shortlist two nominees for the post of PCB’s Chairman. This means that the Najam Sethi-led setup has been given till June 21 to bring back the changes they had planned after Sethi took over the reins from Ramiz Raja in December last year.

According to the 2014 constitution, the management committee will now be responsible for forming a board of governors and electing a chairman, for which that election commissioner will hold a special meeting with a member of board.

The members of PCB’s board will consist of ten members out of which four will be regional representatives (top-four teams from the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy), four will be representatives of services organizations (top-four department teams), and the two members will be nominated by the Prime Minister.
