Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) opener Phil Salt engaged in some banter with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) fast bowler Harshit Rana on social media. The wicketkeeper-batter recalled Harshit Rana's ban for his famous 'flying kiss' celebration during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season.

Salt played a crucial role in Kolkata Knight Riders' title victory in IPL 2024. The right-handed batter was the team's second-highest run scorer. He amassed 435 runs in 12 matches at an impressive strike rate of 182, including four half-centuries. However, KKR was unable to retain him for the 2025 season.

Kolkata Knight Riders shared a light-hearted post on Instagram titled "How to Celebrate with Harshit." The franchise shared how to celebrate Harshit Rana's on-field success, mentioning that KKR fans should thank the heavens for him being part of the team and blow a kiss to mark his wickets.

Phil Salt's comment on the Kolkata Knight Riders' Instagram post caught the attention of cricket fans. He pointed out that the third step was missing from the celebration guide, joking that it was to "lose your match fee because of step 2."

In response, Harshit Rana replied, "Step 3 is gonna be for you," continuing the playful banter.

"@harshit_rana_06 they missed step 3, lose your match fee because of step 2 😂😘, Salt wrote.

"@phil_salt step 3 is gonna be for you 😘," Rana replied.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru secured a seven-wicket victory over Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2025 opener at Eden Gardens on March 22. Phil Salt scored 56 runs off 31 balls, including 9 boundaries and 2 sixes, while opening with Virat Kohli.

Harshit Rana failed to take any wickets in his three overs, conceding 32 runs. The Bengaluru-based franchise chased down the 175-run target in 20 overs, with seven wickets to spare.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru suffered their first defeat of IPL 2025 on Wednesday (April 2) as Gujarat Titans (GT) triumphed by eight wickets at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

RCB, batting first, lost three wickets during the powerplay. However, Liam Livingstone (54) and Jitesh Sharma (33) steadied the innings. Tim David (32) continued the momentum, helping RCB to a total of 169 runs. Mohammed Siraj was the best bowler for Gujarat, taking three wickets.

In response, Shubman Gill (14) couldn’t get a good start, but Sai Sudharsan (49) played a solid knock, and Jos Buttler (73*) returned to form. Sherfane Rutherford (30*) also contributed, guiding GT to a win in under 18 overs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was RCB’s top bowler, taking 1/23 in four overs.
