Punjab Kings' wicketkeeper-batsman Prabhsimran Singh has revealed his all-time Indian Premier League playing XI and has surprisingly snubbed skipper Shreyas Iyer from the squad while naming the CSK veteran as the skipper.
Punjab batting stalwart, the 25-year-old opening batter Prabhsimran Singh, was a star for the runners-up of IPL 2025.
He has played in 17 matches for the PBKS, as he was retained by the Kings as an uncapped player alongside Shashank Singh. This was his most commanding season, as they amassed 549 runs, averaging 32.29. With the highest score of 91, he scored runs at a very healthy strike rate.
Prabhsimran names former RCB veteran as the opener; rules out Rohit Sharma
Prabhsimran Singh was asked to pick his all-time favourite playing XI, and he started off with the two opening slots. He picked up the likes of former RCB veteran Chris Gayle, with whom he had the honour to share the dressing room.
Gayle played for Punjab Kings between 2018 and 2021, when Prabhsimran Singh was just a new recruit into the side. He then went on to pick former Indian legend Virender Sehwag as his opening partner.
After naming the legends, he switched to the biggest name, which remains constant in any player's all-time IPL XI, that is, Virat Kohli. Kohli has played for all 18 seasons in the IPL and is the highest run-getter. Singh also went on to name former RCB star AB de Villiers in his side.
Prabhsimran Singh includes a long list of Mumbai Indians players in his all-time playing XI
Prabhsimran named several Mumbai Indians players in the squad, as he showed an uncanny faith towards several veteran cricketers who featured in the IPL for the 5-time Champions.
Though he left out Rohit Sharma, he has named the current Indian skipper and the Mumbai Indians' dominant middle-order batsman, Suryakumar Yadav, as the no. 4 batter.
Mumbai Indians' current skipper and veteran all-rounder, Hardik Pandya, was roped in at no. 6 and was followed by CSK's legendary wicket-keeper and captain, MS Dhoni. The 44-year-old played for CSK in the last season as well.
The last player on this list of all-rounders was Kieron Pollard, the former West Indian all-rounder who played endless legendary knocks for the MI side and won 5 titles with the side.
Singh followed with two more obvious picks, where he roped in the Mumbai Indians' ace speedster Jasprit Bumrah and tagged him along with the former MI great Lasith Malinga, who had claimed 170 wickets in just 122 appearances for the Mumbai Indians.
Prabhsimran gives the finishing touch to the experienced tally with his current teammate
Meanwhile, Prabhsimran Singh named current PBKS spinner Yuzvendra Chahal as the lead spinner in the side, with whom he completed his playing XI, having named four seamers and a spinner in the side.
A power-packed opening duo, a classic middle-order, and a pack of sublime finishers are what make this team undefeatable. The bowlers have emerged as the cherry on top.
Prabhsimran Singh's all-time IPL Playing XI: Chris Gayle, Virender Sehwag, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, MS Dhoni, Kieron Pollard, Jasprit Bumrah, Yuzvendra Chahal and Lasith Malinga.
