Harshit Rana and Varun Chakravarthy both missed the T20I match against England on July 11 due to injuries. The injury setbacks India suffered were only a few days ahead of the 3-match ODI series between India and England.

To replace Harshit and Varun, the Men's Selection Committee has named Prince Yadav and Ravi Bishnoi as replacements for the ODI and T20I squads, respectively.

BCCI names Prince Yadav and Ravi Bishnoi as replacements for Harshit Rana and Varun Chakravarthy

On Sunday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) issued an official statement on its website, stating that Harshit Rana, a seam-bowling all-rounder, reported a sudden onset of discomfort in his right hamstring during the third T20I against England at Trent Bridge.

Later, medical scans revealed that the fast bowler had picked up a Grade 1 hamstring injury, while the spinner Varun Chakravarthy was ruled out of action because of a Grade 2 hamstring injury. Harshit Rana was about to feature in the upcoming ODI series against England. Due to the injury, he will not be able to take part in it.

In place of Harshit, Prince Yadav, an emerging pacer who made his India debut against Ireland on the ongoing UK tour, has been named in the team. On the other hand, Ravi Bishnoi, who leaked 29 runs against England in the second T20I of the recently concluded series, will join the team for the T20I series against Zimbabwe.

Team India is yet to get their first win in their ongoing UK tour

In the ongoing tour, India remained without a single win in the T20I series against Ireland and England subsequently. Under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer, Team India suffered a 2-0 defeat against Ireland, then a 4-0 defeat against England.

The ODI series is scheduled to start on July 14, with Shubman Gill in charge to lead the team. As the Men in Blue were mostly unimpressive in England in all departments, the ODI series will be their last opportunity to do something significant to justify their status,

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will mark their return with the India National Cricket Team through the 3-match ODI series against England. The first match of the contest will be held in Birmingham.

The pace bowling line-up for the 50-over competition is looking promising as there are senior pacers like Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, and Prasidh Krishan. Prince Yadav and Gurnoor Brar are the other two seamers who are in the team to add more flair.
