Prize Money For ICC Women's World Cup 2022 Doubled

The prize money for the ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 has been doubled to what it was in the last edition. England won the title beating India in the final. The mega event this year will be played between March 4 to April 3 In New Zealand. The prize money has been set at $1.32 million.
Meanwhile, the overall money has seen a rise by 75 per cent, with all the eight teams taking home a share of USD 3.5 million, which is USD 1.5 million more than the previous edition according to the ICC. The runners up will get prize money of USD 600,000, which will be USD 270,000 more than what India were rewarded in 2017.
There is prize money for the two losing semi-finalists and for teams who exit the group stage as well. The two losing semi-finalists will earn USD 300,000 each and the other four teams will earn USD 70,000 — up from the USD 30,000 prize from the previous edition.
In 2022, a total of 28 matches will be played in the round-robin format with each team playing each other once. The top four sides with the most points will make it to the semi-finals. Every wine has two points, while a no-result or a tie will see both teams awarded one point each.
England Under Pressure To Defend Their ICC Women’s World Cup Title
The matches will be played across six venues while the opening game between New Zealand and West Indies in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 will be played at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui. The final will be played at Hagley Oval in Christchurch on April 3.
This might be the last ICC event for many women cricketers across various teams. The competition will see the best of women cricketers fight it out in the mega event. England, the winners of the last ICC Women’s World Cup will have the added pressure of defending their title.
