The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has revealed the proposed schedule for the ninth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The delay in confirming the timetable for the next edition of the PSL tournament is attributed to the forthcoming general elections in Pakistan.
The Pakistan Super League 9 will feature 34 scheduled matches, including the playoff matches and the final match. Karachi City is set to host 11 matches, while Lahore and Rawalpindi cities will each accommodate nine, with Multan City adding 5 to the event’s lineup.
PSL 9 Set To Commence On February 17 In Lahore
The PCB considered the possibility of shifting a few matches to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) but decided against such a move. Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, Islamabad United, and Multan Sultans are scheduled to play five matches each at their home ground.
Peshawar Zalmi is set to compete in four matches each in both Lahore and Rawalpindi. Quetta Gladiators have been assigned three matches in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi. The schedule includes a thorough provision of 15 designated rest days for each team.
Karachi Kings will participate in nine-night matches, while Islamabad United, Quetta Gladiators, Lahore Qalandars, and Multan Sultans are each scheduled for eight-night games. Peshawar Zalmi is set for seven-night matches, a slightly reduced allocation.
Teams are anticipated to convene on February 12, initiating practice sessions and matches from the following day until the 16th of the month. It’s crucial to emphasize that this schedule is provisional, and modifications may be enacted following team consultations.
