Punjab Kings (PBKS) will take on the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 22nd match of IPL 2025 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur.

CSK is currently ranked number nine in the points table after playing four games. The five-time champions have lost three and won a single match so far.

Meanwhile, Punjab Kings also lost their first home game against RR. The Shreyas Iyer-led side had a rollicking start to the season with back-to-back wins.

Punjab Kings Playing 11 vs CSK- IPL 2025, Match 22:

Openers: Prabhsimran Singh (wk) and Priyansh Arya

Prabhsimran Singh will open the innings for Punjab Kings along with Priyansh Arya. Prabhsimran, who has been part of the Punjab Kings setup for a while now, started IPL 2025 on a positive note and scored a fifty in the second match against LSG on a difficult wicket in Lucknow.

Priyansh, on the other hand, caught everyone's attention with a quick-fire innings on his IPL debut against the Gujarat Titans but was dismissed on the first ball of the innings against RR.

Both openers will look to keep up the good work they have shown in the first few matches and would like to provide a solid start to Punjab Kings against CSK

A lot will depend on how the Punjab Kings openers play in the first six overs of the match, considering CSK has a bowler in the form of Khaleel Ahmed, who has the habit of picking wickets with the new ball

Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Shreyas Iyer (c), Marcus Stoinis, Nehal Wadhera, Glenn Maxwell, Shashank Singh, Suryansh Shegde, Marco Jansen

PBKS possesses a strong and in-form middle order comprising the likes of Shreyas Iyer, Marcus Stoinis, Nehal Wadhera, Glenn Maxwell, and Shashank Singh. Shreyas has been in good form in the last couple of months and has scored a couple of fifties in the ongoing tournament as well.

Punjab would wish for their experienced Australian duo of Marcus Stoinis and Glenn Maxwell to contribute more with the bat and give good support to young Nehal Wadhera, who has shown glimpses of what he is capable of doing in the middle-order

Bowlers: Arshdeep Singh, Lockie Ferguson, Yuzvendra Chahal

PBKS will hope for a better show from the bowlers than the way they bowled in their first home game against the Rajasthan Royals, as the bowling, led by Arshdeep Singh, conceded 205 runs, which were considered 10-15 more than the par score.

The score of 205 is also the highest score at this venue in the IPL so far. The bowlers looked short of plans against the aggressive batting lineup of RR and were found wanting once the on-slot was started by the batters.

Having said that, the bowling looked good in patches, especially during the middle overs, with Lockie Ferguson being the pick of the bowlers with his variations in that particular phase of the game as he picked up the important wicket of Yashasvi Jaiswal and restricted the scoring rate.

One of the biggest concerns for PBKS would be the form of their two experienced Indian bowlers, Arshdeep Singh and Yuzvendra Chahal, who haven't performed as per expectations so far
