Ravichandran Ashwin, or R Ashwin, trolls Australian captain, Tim Paine as Team India defeated the hosts in Brisbane by 3 wickets and take the series 2-1 scripting a memorable series comeback after losing the first Test match in Adelaide.

For the context, we have to go only as far as the third Test of the series in Sydney where Ashwin gave Tim Paine a fitting reply after the latter tried to sledge the India spinner while he was batting.

Tim Paine sledged Ravichandran Ashwin, “Can’t wait to get you to the Gabba”

“Can’t wait to get you to India, it will be your last series” replied the off-spinner shutting down the Aussie skipper.

Paine warned Ashwin and team India the threat of the Gabba in Brisbane, where the hosts haven’t lost since 1988 – an unbeaten streak of 31 Test match

However, now India, a team who couldn’t put on 11 fit players, a team with just two players who have played all the four Tests, have attacked and breached Australia’s fortress, The Gabba. Ashwin, known for his sassy and witty comebacks, won’t shy away from taking a dig at Tim Paine, who practically boasted Australia’s invincibility at the Gabba.

Ravichandran Ashwin took to Twitter to remind greet everyone ‘from Gabba’. Ashwin, who couldn’t play the last Test of the series due to a back injury, thanked Cricket Australia for hosting them – it seemed more of a troll- and lauded the efforts of both the team to battle out the series in tough contests for over a month.

Ravichandran Ashwin mentions that the team and the fans – and possibly the Australians as well – will never forget the series. The off-spinner didn’t forget to tag Tim Paine and Cricket Australia.

“Good evening from Gabba!! I am sorry I couldn’t play here but thanks for hosting us and playing some hard cricket during these tough times. We will remember this series forever! @tdpaine36 @CricketAus” tweeted Ravichandran Ashwin. 

Next, with an eye on the World Test Championship final, India host Joe Root’s England for a 4-Test match series commencing 5th February The Test series will be followed by 5 T20Is and a 3-match ODI series.
