Rahul Dravid Confirms India's Preparation For England Tests To Begin On January 20 In Hyderabad

Team India head coach Rahul Dravid is excited about the upcoming five match Test series against England at home. Rahul Dravid highlighted that the Indian team will commence their training camp for the highly anticipated series in Hyderabad starting on January 20.

India clinched a clean sweep in their T20I series against Afghanistan in a thrilling Double Super Over contest in Bengaluru on January 17. After this triumph, both the players and coaching staff are set to take a two-day break before the Test squad gathers in Hyderabad.

The players, including Skipper Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Mukesh Kumar, and Avesh Khan, will now integrate into the Test squad after the break. They will need to make the transition from T20I cricket to Tests.

It’s Going To Be An Interesting Series – Rahul Dravid

In a conversation with JioCinema, Rahul Dravid expressed anticipation for the upcoming series against England, acknowledging the challenge posed by the five-match series. Dravid highlighted England as a formidable side with recent commendable performances.

“Really looking forward it, it’s going to be an interesting series. England is a good side, they have been playing some very good cricket off late. Five matches is a lot of cricket over the next couple of months. It’s been a long time since any of us have played a Five match Test series. It’s going to take a lot out of us,” Dravid said.

“Looking forward to getting back with the group on the 20th, have a few days of lead-in preparation and hopefully play some good cricket over the next couple of months. In 5 venues, hopefully, people come out and really support Test cricket,” he added.

The upcoming series marks India’s first home five-match Test series since England’s visit in 2018. The Men in Blue played their last five-match series in England in 2021, but the final Test was rescheduled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and eventually played in 2022.

The First Between India And England Set To Commence On January 25

England are set to arrive in India on January 21, just three days before the first Test. The England team have undergone a preparatory camp in Abu Dhabi ahead of this challenging series. England will be looking to play a fearless brand of cricket known as Bazball in India.

The first Test is scheduled to take place in Hyderabad, starting on January 25. The second Test will be played in Visakhapatnam from February 2 to 6. The remaining matches are scheduled for Rajkot from February 15 to 19, Ranchi from February 23 to 27, and Dharamsala from March 7 to 11.
