It’s good to have Rahul Dravid back: Ruturaj Gaikwad
Dravid was appointed India’s new head coach and will replace Ravi Shastri from the forthcoming T20I series against New Zealand.
Ruturaj was part of many of the India A team tours, where Dravid would be the head coach. In fact, the Maharashtra batter made his international debut when Dravid was appointed as the head coach of the Sri Lanka tour in July.
Ruturaj said it was great to have Dravid back as the Indian head coach and the player believes that he will benefit from his experience.
“I have been part of many India A tours and we (with Rahul Dravid) have discussed several things through the years and learnt so much from him. I think it’s good to have him back. Obviously, it’s good to learn and go back. I will have much experience from speaking to him. He has told me a lot of things and influenced my batting,” Ruturaj told Times of India.
Ruturaj, who captains the Maharashtra team in domestic cricket, carried his incredible form in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The opener posted scores of 51, 80, 81, 3 and 44 in the five innings he batted so far in the tournament.
