Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has suffered a double blow after qualifying for the IPL 2025 playoffs. On Friday, May 23, the Pat Cummins-led Sunrisers Hyderabad managed to break the winning streak of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru by winning the group clash by 42 runs in Lucknow.
SRH has all but ruined RCB’s chances of a top-2 finish in the IPL 2025 points table with a late shocker on Friday night. Rubbing salt into their wounds, BCCI has now taken action against Rajat Patidar for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct despite not leading the side against SRH.
Rajat Patidar played as an impact substitute against SRH as he has been nursing the finger injury on his right hand that he sustained against Chennai Super Kings on May 3. Interestingly, Virat Kohli must have declined to lead the RCB, as Jitesh Sharma made his captaincy debut.
