Ramiz Raja Fired As PCB Chairman, Najam Sethi Likely To Take Over

Pakistan Cricket Team had a forgettable Test Series against England where they were completely outplayed in all the 3 facets of the game. The Men in Green would be utterly disappointed as they couldn’t seize the key moments of the match. PCB now has successfully conducted 2 tours in 2022: Australia & England and would be mightily pleased.

Pakistan now is almost out of the World Test Championship (WTC 2021-23) final race due to this series defeat. The Men in Green had a golden chance to make a case for themselves in the WTC as last time they didn’t get the opportunity.

Najam Sethi New PCB Chairman

PCB has sacked Ramiz Raja from the post of Chairman. Ramiz Raja was quite instrumental in his tenure where he not only brought International Cricket back to Pakistan but also got Pakistan the hosting rights of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.  Najam Sethi is expected to be the new chairman as earlier he was the chairman from 2014-207.

Concerns for Pakistan Cricket Team

There are chances that there may be a change in the leadership group as well as in the coaching staff. We earlier had seen under Ramiz Raja, that there was a flurry of changes. With New Zealand Cricket Team set to play a Test Match on 26th December, it would be interesting to see how the series pans out as in 2021, the Black Caps had pulled out in the middle citing security issues.

Pakistan Cricket fans would be hoping that the 2023 Asia Cup gets organized in Pakistan only Ramiz Raja had threatened that the board may pull out of the tourney if India doesn’t come. With so many ICC tournaments and series aligned next, the new PCB Chairman will have a strenuous task on hand.
