The Men in Blue hasn’t won T20 World Cup since the inception of IPL. There are chances that there might be a change in the coaching staff too. With a lot of ICC events scheduled in the next couple of years, the board may be tempted to apply split coaching.

BCCI To Name Hardik Pandya T20I Skipper

As per reports in One Cricket, it is reported that Hardik Pandya will be announced as the new T20I Skipper in the BCCI Apex Council Meeting. Hardik Pandya recently captained India against New Zealand and won the T20I Series. The all-rounder had also won IPL 2022 in his maiden stint for Gujarat Titans (GT).

Hardik Pandya an Asset

The scintillating all-rounder has shown a lot of promise ever since the 2021 T20 debacle. Legendary Cricketer Sunil Gavaskar has backed Pandya to lead the team in the shorter format. The way he won the title for GT in the IPL 2022 was quite remarkable as he stood behind the bowler. The batter had a remarkable 2022 where he single-handedly won a lot of matches for the team.

With the next T20 World Cup  2024 scheduled in the USA- West Indies, the BCCI needs to select a bunch of 20-25 players and stick to them.

There are chances that the likes of Ashwin, Jadeja, Rohit & Karthik would be ignored for the upcoming Sri Lanka T20I Series as BCCI is looking to form a new team. BCCI’s main agenda that be to select a selection panel that doesn’t chop & changes as earlier the team had a lot of captains.
