RCB struggles with freak injuries as Rasikh Dar, the Indian youngster, leaves the field alongside the physios after sustaining an injury to his hamstring.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru have not had many injuries lined up this season after the return of Josh Hazlewood, the Aussie pacer who was injured at the start of the season. Since then,, their first injury concern came with Virat Kohli going off the field at the Wankhede.

Phil Salt, who has been sporadic on the field for the Royal Challengers and has played his part with the bat in recent games after an unconvincing start to the campaign, has been ruled out with an injury ahead of their game against GT.

Rasikh Dar leaves the ground after physios confirm hamstring injury against GT

The Jammu and Kashmir youngster has been a good find for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He replaced Abhinandan from the RCB side after the bowler replaced Yash Dayal for the initial matches of the season.

Rasikh Dar was immediately on the wickets tally for the Challengers, while he has been very economical with the ball, especially in the death overs. However, the bowler failed to bowl the final over against the Gujarat Titans at Chinnaswamy.

Rasikh Dar caught his hamstring even before he could bowl a ball in the game. Dar was then assessed by the physios, and he was taken off the field while Krunal Pandya took the ball in the final over of the game.

Krunal Pandya leaks 18 runs off the final over after injury scare

After Rasikh Dar left the field, Krunal Pandya, the experienced spinner from RCB, was picked to bowl the final over. Skipper Rajat Patidar relied more on him than Romario Shepherd, who leaked runs in the previous game against the Capitals in the final over and had already bowled a 17-run over in this game as well.

The left-arm spinner is known for his unique variations and has been seen bowling under several circumstances, like the powerplay and the death overs as well. Krunal, however, did not have the answer to some long levers from West Indian giant Jason Holder.

Holder picked Krunal and smacked him over the mid-wicket boundary on two occasions. He was then hit for a four, as Holder managed to get 16 runs off three balls. Krunal ended with two good balls as they finished on 205 with an 18-run final over.

NO Phil Salt as RCB look to chase a 200+ target at the Chinnaswamy

RCB look to get their hands on a final win at the Chinnaswamy as they play their final game at this venue. However, they will have to chase a 200+ total against one of the most challenging bowling lineups in the IPL.

Though they have chased such targets on former occasions, they will miss the services of Phil Salt, the RCB opener who has had a massive role to play in those former innings. Yet with Virat Kohli in the side, they would look to chase it well at the Chinnaswamy.
