India's leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi achieved a massive feat during the first T20I between Zimbabwe and India at Harare. Bishnoi's remarkable bowling performance made him only the second Indian spinner after Harbhajan Singh to achieve this memorable feat.

In the match, Bishnoi had a great time with the ball as he bowled an excellent spell of 4-13 in four overs. He removed Brian Bennett, Wesley Madhevere, Luke Jongwe, and Blessing Muzarabani. The young legspinner was on target right from his first ball.

Bishnoi picked up the wicket in his first ball of the match by removing the youngster Brian Bennett, who was batting well till that time. The leg-spinner showed no nerves despite playing competitive cricket after a long time.

Then, he removed Wesley Madhevere in his second over. Bishnoi came in to bowl his second spell during the slog over. But the Zimbabwe batters were finding it difficult to read him on a slow pitch. He added two more wickets to his tally in the 16th over of the match to slide Zimbabwe further.

In his magnificent spell of spin bowling, Ravi Bishnoi also bowled two maiden overs. Thus, he became only the second Indian spinner after Harbhajan Singh to bowl two maiden overs in a single T20I.

About 12 years ago, Harbhajan Singh had bowled two maidens against England in a T20 World Cup 2012 match. At that time, Harbhajan had recorded figures of 4-2-12-4. India went on to beat England by 90 runs in the match because of Harbhajan's heroics and he was also adjudged the Player of the Match.

Bishnoi is the fourth Indian bowler to bowl two maidens in a single T20I match. Before him, Harbhajan Singh, Bhuvnershwar Kumar, and Jasprit Bumrah have already achieved this feat. In fact, Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the only Indian to do it twice.

Zimbabwe stun India in a thriller

Talking about the match, Indian bowlers bowled splendidly and restricted Zimbabwe to just 115-9 in 20 overs. Chasing 116 to win, the young Indian batting line-up were found wanting on a tricky pitch. The batters tried to show aggression but the pitch didn't suit their style of batting.

Debutants Riyan Parag and Abhishek Sharma struggled for timing and were dismissed cheaply. The Men in Blue were reduced to 47-6 at one stage. Skipper Shubman Gill tried to resurrect the innings but Zimbabwe's bowlers proved to be too good on the day. With Gill's dismissal, India's chances also took a hit.

Allrounder Washington Sundar tried till the end but failed to take his team past the finish line as he had little support from the other end. Zimbabwe went on to claim a thriller by 13 runs and went 1-0 up in the series. Sikandar Raza and Tendai Chatara picked up 3 wickets apiece and broke the back of India's batting line-up.

Raza was adjudged Player of the Match for his excellent spell of bowling and brief cameo with the bat. The next T20I of the series will be played on Sunday (July 7) on the same ground.
