Chennai Super Kings off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has taken a bold stand in the middle of IPL 2025. Ravichandran Ashwin has announced that he will not share any content related to the Chennai Super Kings on his YouTube channel for the rest of the season.

The former Indian all-rounder took that bold call after a controversy erupted following one of Chennai Super Kings’ games in the ongoing IPL 2025.

Actually, a video posted on Ashwin’s channel, where former South African analyst Prasanna Agoram questioned CSK's decision to pick Afghanistan spinner Noor Ahmad ahead of Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja.

Ravichandran Ashwin cuts off CSK coverage amid controversy

After the video went viral on social media, it received a lot of backlash, eventually leading Ashwin to delete the video from his YouTube channel. Things escalated when CSK head coach Stephen Fleming was asked about the clip after their loss to Delhi Capitals.

The CSK coach dismissed the issue, calling it irrelevant, and claimed he wasn’t even aware of Ashwin’s YouTube presence. Stephen Fleming said after CSK vs DC clash: “I have no idea. I didn't even know he had a channel, so I don't know that stuff. That's irrelevant.”

Now, Ravichandran Ashwin made it clear that he will now stay away from any discussion or analysis involving the Chennai Super Kings on his YouTube channel for the rest of the IPL 2025 season. The off-spinner also clarified that guest opinions don’t reflect his own and now he wants to keep the show balanced and respectful.

In his lengthy note on his YouTube channel, Ravichandran Ashwin stated: “Given the nature of the discussions on this forum over the last week, we want to be mindful of how things can be interpreted and have chosen to step away from covering CSK games, both previews and reviews, for the rest of this season.”

Ashwin further said, “We value the diversity of perspectives that come through on our shows and remain committed to ensuring the conversation stays true to the integrity and purpose of the platform we've established. The views expressed by our guests do not reflect Ashwin's personal opinions. We appreciate all those who engage thoughtfully with the spirit of the show.”

Notably, Ashwin has played in all matches for CSK so far and has taken only three wickets.

CSK's losing streak hits three ahead of PBKS clash in IPL 2025

Meanwhile, CSK is currently going through the rough phase, having lost three games in a row in the tournament. They had a winning start to their IPL 2025 campaign, but they failed to maintain the momentum and lost three games against RCB, DC, and RR.

Now, the five-time IPL champions are set to face Punjab Kings in their next IPL 2025 clash on April 8 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh.

Then CSK will face Kolkata Knight Riders on April 11 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, followed by Lucknow Super Giants on April 15 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow in the ongoing IPL 2025.
