Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has finally broken his silence on his shocking departure from Chennai Super Kings (CSK)—a move that has shaken the entire fanbase, ahead of the IPL 2026. Ravindra Jadeja reunited with the Rajasthan Royals in a historic trade deal, marking the end of his iconic chapter with the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL.

However, the Indian all-rounder said that this move feels like going back to where everything began. Jadeja said that the Rajasthan Royals is the place that gave him confidence and his very first taste of championship glory. The former CSK captain has stressed that he is just returning to a place that still feels like home.

Jadeja, who is currently playing in the first Test between India and South Africa at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, also made it clear that he is determined to create new memories and chase more trophies with the Royals in the remaining IPL journey.

Ravindra said in a statement as quoted by Cricbuzz: “Rajasthan Royals gave me my first platform and my first taste of victory. Coming back feels special - it's not just a team for me, it's home. Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals’ Director of Cricket Kumar Sangakkara has welcomed Jadeja back to the side and shared how special this reunion is for the franchise as well. The Sri Lankan legend believes that Jadeja’s experience, skill, and calmness add immense value to RR.

Kumar Sangakkara stated, “Jadeja coming back to the Royals is incredibly special for all of us. He understands the franchise and the fans, having been part of RR's IPL-winning campaign. Over the years he has grown into a player who can influence the game in every department. His experience, composure, and competitive edge will add immense value to our group.”

Sangakkara also highlighted Sam Curran’s importance, saying the England star’s fearless style and all-round ability give RR the perfect balance. With Jadeja and Curran together, Sangakkara feels the Royals are building a team strong enough to take on any challenge next season.

Notably, Jadeja returned to Rajasthan Royals with a revised IPL fee, as his salary has been brought down from INR 18 crore to INR 14 crore for the upcoming season. On the other hand, Sanju Samson will stay at a massive INR 18 crore after his high-profile move to CSK, while Curran joined the RR at INR 2.4 crore—the same fee he was getting from the five-time IPL champions.

Jadeja had begun his IPL journey with RR at the age of 19 back in 2008 and played 27 matches across two seasons for them. The Indian all-rounder scored 430 runs and took six wickets for them in his previous stint.
