He’s such a big player that he knows how to get back in form: Ravindra Jadeja

Ravindra Jadeja said at the post-match press conference in Cuttack, “In the dressing room, we’re not worried at all. He’s such a big player that he knows how to get back in form. It was just a matter of one inning. It didn’t feel like he has not scored runs in the last few innings. It was a smooth knock, and he played some confident shots. Sometimes it’s just about one or two innings.”

The all-rounder added, “If one or two innings go well, it’s a good thing. Him getting back in form before the Champions Trophy is important for us. I think it’s excellent for the team. Obviously, he knows what his game is. There’s nothing to think about or discuss.”

It’s not my department: Ravindra Jadeja on Jasprit Bumrah’s availability for the ICC Champions Trophy

Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja remained tight-lipped when asked about Jasprit Bumrah’s availability for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

However, the Indian all-rounder said that having Bumrah fit and ready would be a massive boost, not just for the team, but for the entire nation, to have brighter chances to lift the Champions Trophy after more than a decade.

Jadeja signed off by saying, “It’s not my department. It’s the job of the medical department; they’re following up. Hopefully, he gets fit. It will be a huge boost for us. It is good for the whole country as well, not only for our team.”

Will Jasprit Bumrah make a comeback with the Ahmedabad ODI?

Earlier, Indian batting coach Sitanshu Kotak also refused to reveal any details about Bumrah’s injury. On the other hand, neither the head coach Gautam Gambhir nor captain Rohit Sharma slipped away any detail regarding Jasprit Bumrah’s fitness and availability for the marquee event.

Now, Bumrah’s picture will only be cleared on February 11, as this is the final deadline for all the participating teams to make any changes to their 15-member squad, and the Men in Blue will also play the final ODI against England in Ahmedabad on the same date.

Bumrah was named in India’s squad for the third and final ODI against England as well as for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
