Team India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja achieved a significant milestone with the ball during the ongoing first ODI of the three-match series against England. Ravindra Jadeja surpassed the legendary bowler James Anderson to top the list of wicket-takers in the bilateral ODI series between India and England.
Jos Buttler won the toss and chose to bat first in Nagpur on Thursday, February 6. Ben Duckett and Phil Salt gave a flying start by adding 75 in just 8.5 overs. Salt was particularly aggressive and took advantage of Rana's bowling, hitting three sixes and two boundaries in a costly over that went for 26 runs.

Ravindra Jadeja picked up his first by trapping Root in front of the stumps. Root departed to the dressing room after scoring 19 runs off 31 balls. His second victim of the match was Jacob Bethell, who scored 51 runs off 34 balls. The left-arm spinner also removed Adil Rashid, finishing with 3/26 in 9 overs.

After picking Bethell's wicket, the 36-year-old all-rounder surpassed James Anderson's record for the most wickets in the 50-over cricket matches between the two teams. Jadeja has taken 42 wickets in 27 matches at an average of 23.28 and an economy rate of 4.6, while Anderson took 40 wickets in 31 matches.
Before the first ODI against England, Jadeja had taken 39 wickets. Other notable bowlers on this list include Andrew Flintoff (37 wickets), Harbhajan Singh (36), and Javagal Srinath/Ravichandran Ashwin (35).

Ravindra Jadeja has been a consistent and reliable bowler for India. Since making his debut in 2009 against Sri Lanka, he has claimed 222 wickets from 198 matches at an average of 35.85 and maintained an economy rate of 4.87. His best performances include seven four-wicket hauls and two five-wicket hauls.
In the ongoing first ODI against England, Jadeja contributed with figures of 3/26 from nine overs, including a maiden. The all-rounder helped India restrict England to 248 runs in 47.4 overs.
Also, Jadeja has completed 600 wickets in international cricket, becoming the sixth Indian to achieve this milestone. He is just the second Indian cricketer after Kapil Dev with 6000 runs and 600 wickets in international cricket.
