Legendary Australian fast bowler Brett Lee has made a funny remark on the Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. After India’s hard-fought five-match Test series against England ended at a 2-2 score, Lee joked that the only danger to Ravindra Jadeja’s fitness might be his famous sword celebration.
The Australian great felt that the way Jadeja twirls his bat could even trouble his shoulder more than playing long spells of cricket. Jadeja’s famous sword celebration has a deep meaning behind it. He comes from a proud Rajput family, and the sword dance is an important way of showing courage and joy during celebrations in their traditions.
Since he cannot take a real sword onto the field, the Indian all-rounder uses his bat to recreate those iconic moves to pay a tribute to his heritage, showing the fighting spirit of a Rajput warrior.
Brett Lee warns Ravindra Jadeja of his sword celebration
Brett Lee said on his YouTube channel, “The only way I see him getting injured is doing a rotator cuff, with the way he does the sword celebration. I love it. Look after your body; don't celebrate too hard.”

Notably, the 36-year-old all-rounder was India’s most experienced player in the new-look Test side, and he proved his worth with both bat and ball on the England tour.
Jadeja has amassed 516 runs, including a century and five fifties, while also picking up seven wickets in the five tests against England. The left-arm spinner’s consistency showed why he remains one of India’s finest all-rounders, especially in Test cricket.
Brett Lee backs Ravindra Jadeja to play 100 Tests, calls him a “Factory-Made Cricketer”
However, Brett Lee hailed Ravindra Jadeja’s energy and skills, calling him a ‘factory-made cricketer’ who does everything right, from batting with confidence to bowling with control and sharp fielding.
He even suggested that Ravindra Jadeja has at least two years left in Test cricket, which would help him reach the special milestone of playing 100 matches in Test cricket.
The former Australian pacer added, “You know, another sort of 15 tests is about two years. I think he'll go past the 100 mark. I think he's one of the best all-rounders that we've seen. 36 years of age, he's still got a good couple of years left in him.
The term we like to use is "factory-made cricketer." He has everything that a cricketer needs, and I think he ticks every single box. He does the basics right; he's got a simple technique, no fuss. He runs in and bowls accurately; he bowls the correct line and length when needed and gets through his overs quickly.”

Brett Lee hails Ravindra Jadeja’s fitness and fearless approach in big moments
Lee was really impressed with Jadeja’s fitness despite being a 36-year-old cricketer. The Aussie great said that the Indian all-rounder is the fittest in the team, mentioning how he covers a lot of ground and prides himself on being the fittest cricketer of his generation.
He felt Jadeja's fitness is probably the reason why he never shies away from the big moments on the field. Lee signed off by saying, “He likes to be in the game, he's an entertainer, and he's probably one of the factory cricketers that if you put everything into a mix, throw it into a bucket, mix it all up, and pick out your best cricketer, Jadeja will be at the top of the list.”
Notably, the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 between India and England lived up to the hype, as it was played for 25 intense days before ending in a 2-2 draw at The Oval. Now, the Indian cricket team is gearing up for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025.
However, Jadeja will not be part of the tournament, having retired from T20I cricket after winning the ICC T20 World Cup in 2024 along with Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, who also retired from Test cricket ahead of the England tour in May 2025.
