RCB takes on RR in the IPL 2024 eliminator in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, May 22 from 7.30 pm IST. The winner of this match advances through to Qualifier 2 while the loser of this match gets eliminated from the tournament.
RCB after just winning two out of their first eight games made a remarkable comeback and managed to win their last six and make it to the playoffs. The side was at the bottom of the table almost for the whole of the first half of the tournament.
However, the resurgence began with the win against SRH, and the side built on the win and managed to win six on the trot and made the playoffs. This is the ninth time RCB has made it to the playoffs. They have also reached two finals.
RCB restricted CSK under 201 which was the score needed for CSK to get to the playoffs. The win should come as a huge confidence booster after they lost the season opener against CSK who were the defending champions at the start of the season.
RCB should ideally back the same side that played the last match against CSK in the eliminator against RR. Cricket experts believe that RCB has the edge in this game as they have the momentum behind them and might come out on top against RR who are struggling at the moment after those four back-to-back losses.

Virat Kohli
Kohli will open the batting for RCB. He has scored 708 runs so far this season with five fifties and a hundred. He scored 47 in the knockout game against CSK.
Faf du Plessis (C)
Du Plessis will open the batting with Kohli. Very quietly he has reached 421 runs for the season with three fifty-plus scores. He scored 54 against CSK.
Rajat Patidar
Patidar will slot in at three. His aggressive batting in the middle-order against the spinners is one of the key reasons for RCB's late success. He scored 41 against CSK.
Cameron Green
Green will slot in at four. He has batted well for RCB in the second half of the campaign and also picked up wickets. He will be key with the bat in the lower order.
Glenn Maxwell
Maxwell returned to the playing XI against CSK and played an important cameo of 16 off five balls and also took a wicket. RCB would hope that he continues his big match form.
Dinesh Karthik (WK)

The RCB pacer will slot in at nine. He picked up 1/35 in the match against CSK. He has picked up 13 wickets this season so far and has 91 IPL wickets so far in his career.
Lockie Ferguson
The Kiwi pacer will be the specialist overseas pacer for RCB. He picked up 1/39 against CSK and has picked up 8 wickets from six games this season so far. He is five short of 50 IPL wickets.
Yash Dayal
The left-arm pacer concludes the likely RCB XI. He bowled the final over against CSK and defended 17 to take RCB to the playoffs. Dayal now has 15 wickets for the season.
Impact Sub: Swapnil Singh
