Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has finalized their retained players for IPL Auction 2025. BCCI has set a deadline of October 31 for all teams to set up their retention lists ahead of IPL Auction 2025.

According to the new rules laid by BCCI for IPL Auction 2025, all the teams can retain a total of 6 players in their squad. There can be a maximum of 5 capped members and a maximum of 2 uncapped members on each side.

Also, the franchise can spend a maximum of Rs. 75 crore out of their 120 crore purse in retentions. Out of this, the price of uncapped members is fixed at Rs. 4 crore. Also, teams can retain all of their players ahead of the auction with direct retentions or with the Right To Match (RTM) during the auction.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru reached playoffs last season

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) came up with a stunning show last season. After losing the first 7 games out of 8, they bounced back in the later half to reach the playoffs. They crushed Chennai Super Kings in a must-win match in the last encounter of the league stage to enter playoffs in style.

The Faf du Plessis & Co. won 7 games and lost 7 matches out of 14 to end in 4th spot in the league stage to reach playoffs. However, RCB could not reach the final once again. They lost the Eliminator Game to Rajasthan Royals and ended as the 4th best team in the tournament.

Virat Kohli and Yash Dayal were top performers for RCB with bat and ball

Virat Kohli was the best performer for the side with 741 runs in 15 matches and also won the purple cap. He slammed 1 century and 5 half-centuries at 61+ average and 154+ strike rate.

Faf du Plessis also supported him well, smacking 438 runs in 15 games at a 161+ strike rate. In the bowling department, Yash Dayal and Mohammed Siraj were the leading wicket-takers for the side with 15 scalps. The rest of the bowlers could not cross 10 wickets in total.

Hence, RCB's massive success in the last season was due to Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis in the batting zone and Siraj and Dayal in the bowling zone. Hence, they might make many changes to their squad during IPL Auction 2025. An entire new contingent might play under the leadership of Faf du Plessis in IPL 2025.
