RCB vs CSK: Sunil Gavaskar attacks Virat Kohli yet again, credits this man for saving Virat's career

Virat Kohli has been grabbing the eyeballs of former cricketers and commentators ever since he started playing cricket for India. The same thing transpired as he went along and started playing in the IPL.
After a good start to IPL 2024, Kohli is now topping the Orange Cap list with 661 runs from 13 matches at an average of 66.10 and a strike rate touching 160. He is well ahead in the run-scoring list with Ruturaj Gaikwad second on the list with 583.
His strike rate has often been a question and a point of discussion throughout this IPL season. However, when looking at his overall aggregate of runs for the season, he has well made up for it.

It was Sunil Gavaskar who got into this debate regarding Kohli's strike rate and when initially asked, he stood by what he said.
“If you have a strike rate of 118, you come and face the first ball, and then you get out in the 14th or 15th over and your strike rate is 118 – if you want applause for that, then that's a little bit different," Hindustan Times had quoted Gavaskar as saying.
After his match-winning 92 off 47 balls against Punjab Kings, Kohli took a dig at Gavaskar's comments on his strike rate in the post-match presentation. He spoke about people commenting from the "box" and not being in that situation makes no sense.
"Was important for me to keep up the strike rate right through (laughs). I was just focused on taking the momentum forward. There was a tricky phase when Rajat got out, and there was a break for rain and hail. We had a bit of stop of momentum," he said at the innings break.
"All the people who talk about strike rates and me not playing spin well are the ones who love talking about this stuff. But for me, it's just about winning the game for the team. And there's a reason why you do it for 15 years - because you've done this day in [and] day out; you've won games for your teams" Kohli added.
Sunil Gavaskar Takes A Dig At Virat Kohli ... Again
Now Sunil Gavaskar has spoken about Virat Kohli's career once again this time by bringing MS Dhoni into reference. It looks like he has tried to reignite the RCB-CSK rivalry in his own way.
He said that it was MS Dhoni's support that helped Virat Kohli bring his career back on track. He further said that Kohli had a stop-start career.
Sunil Gavaskar said, "when Virat Kohli started his career it was a stop-start career. The fact that MS Dhoni gave him that little extra momentum is why he is the Kohli we see today". p<!---->i<!---->c<!---->.<!---->t<!---->w<!---->i<!---->t<!---->t<!---->e<!---->r<!---->.<!---->c<!---->o<!---->m<!---->/<!---->t<!---->y<!---->m<!---->B<!---->9<!---->c<!---->k<!---->T<!---->d<!---->z

"When Virat Kohli started his career, it was a stop-start career. The fact that MS Dhoni gave him that little extra momentum is why he is the Kohli we see today" he said on Star Sports.
Meanwhile, RCB have a tough task on their hands heading into their final league game against CSK. They sit on 12 points and an NRR of +0.387.
They need to win against CSK by 18 runs or chase down the target with 11 balls to spare given CSK scores above 200 batting first. There are reports of heavy rainfall in Bangalore on Saturday. A washout will take CSK through to the playoffs.
