Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni will come face to face on Saturday as RCB takes on CSK at the Chinnaswamy on Saturday. A place in the playoffs is up for grabs for both teams.

The match started on time with CSK winning the toss and asking RCB to bat first. The equation to win the match has now become simple for RCB. They have to beat Chennai by a margin of 18 runs or more to get their NRR better than that of their opponents and secure the fourth spot in the playoffs.

RCB were 31 for no loss in three overs before the rain came down and halted the play. As of now, it is raining in Bangalore and the ground and the pitch is fully covered.

Virat Kohli is the top-scorer in the season as of now with more than 650 runs and is eyeing to get past 700. He is unbeaten on 19 off 9 balls at the moment with one four and two sixes.

Before the match, Kohli spoke to Jio Cinema and blasted all criticism that came MS Dhoni's way in this IPL season. There have been talks and discussions about MS Dhoni batting way down in the batting order. Later it was revealed that he was playing with a muscle tear. Further talks have been about whether this will be his last IPL season or not.

“People keep talking about Mahi bhai. They keep saying he takes the game to 20th over or 50th over, but he always knows what he is doing. He has finished so many games said Kohli ahead of their final league game against CSK on MS Dhoni.

Meanwhile, this was just the third toss won by CSK in the league stage of IPL 2024. Ruturaj Gaikwad was a relieved man as he won the toss at the Chinnaswamy on Saturday.

"We'll bowl first. The wicket looks good, conditions are overcast and we will look to make the most of the movement in the first 2-3 overs. It looks a bit damp, but we'll go with great intent. Every game in the IPL is must win, nothing changes for us, we'll take it ball-by-ball, try and win the small processes. We've won some crucial games to go ahead of the pack in the middle. Just one change - Moeen isn't available, Santner replaces him," Gaikwad said at the toss.

RCB skipper Faf du Plessis said that they are just thinking about giving their best shot in this final game and not thinking about the result. RCB are heading into this game on the back of five consecutive losses and Faf spoke about taking confidence from this performance.

"We would have fielded as well, but we put up a good score when we batted first last. Losing the toss isn't ideal, but we'll take a lot of confidence from the last 5 games. The set-up is great, last match before the knockout stage, the scenario is nicely set up and we're happy to play our last league game in front of our fans. Not thinking a lot, we'll take it as it comes and do our best," said Faf at the toss.
