The RCB vs DC IPL 2024 match to be played in Bangalore on Sunday is a crucial match for both teams. The losing team will be on the brink of elimination from IPL 2024.

RCB vs DC Date and Venue

The RCB vs DC IPL 2024 match will be played at the Chinnaswamy stadium in Bangalore on Sunday, May 12. The match starts at 7.30 pm IST. This is the first meeting between the sides this season and the penultimate game in Bangalore this year.

RCB vs DC Match Preview- IPL 2024, Match 62

Royal Challengers Bangalore

RCB after losing six games on the trot now won four games on the bounce to make a raging comeback. The batters and bowlers have all chipped in for the team's recent success.

In the last four games, they have beaten GT twice and won against SRH and PBKS. The batting has stepped up big time with KOhli way ahead in the Orange Cap race with 634 runs.

However, a loss for RCB against DC in the next game will by all means end their hopes of making the playoffs. A loss win means that they can only get to 12 points which will not be enough to see them through. A win keeps them hanging by a thread with their NRR still on the negative.

RCB Squad

Faf du Plessis (c), Glenn Maxwell, Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, Anuj Rawat, Dinesh Karthik, Suyash Prabhudessai, Will Jacks, Mahipal Lomror, Karn Sharma, Manoj Bhandage, Mayank Dagar, Vijaykumar Vyshak, Akash Deep, Mohammed Siraj, Reece Topley, Himanshu Sharma, Rajan Kumar, Cameron Green, Alzarri Joseph, Yash Dayal, Tom Curran, Lockie Ferguson, Swapnil Singh, Saurav Chauhan

Delhi Capitals

DC's 20-run win over Rajasthan Royals took them to 12 points and fifth on the points table as of now. They can get to 16 points if they win both their remaining games and will keep them in the race for the playoffs. They too have their NRR in the negative and will need to win by a big margin to cover up for it.

The side has a few concerns with their senior players. David Warner has now missed a few games with his injury and DC would dearly want him to make a return.

Their bowling group has made a good performance in the last few games, especially in the last match against DC. Young Aussie Jake Fraser McGurk holds the key as well for DC.

DC Squad

Rishabh Pant (c), Pravin Dubey, David Warner, Vicky Ostwal, Prithvi Shaw, Anrich Nortje, Abishek Porel, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Lalit Yadav, Khaleel Ahmed, Mitchell Marsh, Ishant Sharma, Yash Dhull, Mukesh Kumar, Tristan Stubbs, Ricky Bhui, Kumar Kushagra, Rasikh Dar, Jhye Richardson, Sumit Kumar, Shai Hope, Swastik Chhikara, Lizaad Williams

RCB vs DC Key Battles

Jake Fraser McGurk vs Lockie Ferguson

The young Aussie is a big hitter and the experienced Kiwi might be a good match up against the youngster. He has a few tricks up his sleeve which can be handy against the youngster.

Virat Kohli vs Kuldeep Yadav

This is the most crucial match-up of the game. Kuldeep has picked up prized wickets of opposition batters and Kohli in his current form will be a prized wicket. DC can expose his slight weakness against spin early on.

Tristan Stubbs vs Karn Sharma

Stubbs has scored heavy runs in the death overs for Delhi Capitals and Karn Sharma, with his experience can be a suitable match-up against him to take his wicket.

RCB vs DC Key Players

For RCB, Virat Kohli in his current form is the biggest key player. He along with Faf du Plessis holds the key with the bat. With the ball, Siraj, Swapnil Singh, Karn Sharma, and Lockie Ferguson will be key.

For DC, the return of David Warner is still doubtful;l. This makes Fraser McGurk the most important batter in the lineup. Alongside him. Abishek Porel, Rishabh Pant, and Stubbs the key batters. With the ball, the spin twins, Kuldeep and Axar will be key. Rashik Salam the young pacer will be key as well.

RCB vs DC Weather and Pitch Report

Rain and thunderstorms are expected in the daytime in Banglore on Sunday. There is a 65 percent chance of rain in the daytime. Thunderstorms are expected in the afternoon. By the evening, the temperature will drop down to 26 degrees with cloudy skies and thunderstorms expected. There is a 55 percent chance of rain.

Speaking about the pitch, it is a high-scoring venue in general. However, GT were bowled out for 147 in the previous game with the pitch being slow last time around. It will be interesting to see what kind of track is laid out for this game.

Conclusion

As said above, this is a must-win game for both teams. DC are on 12 points while RCB is 10. A loss for RCB at home will end their playoff hopes while a loss for Delhi Capitals will pretty much end their hopes as well. Besides winning all the games, the two teams need a few other results to go in their favor as well
