As the IPL 2024 enters the final phase of the tournament, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) finds themselves in a race for a playoff spot despite early setbacks, thanks to the incredible leadership of the dynamic duo Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis.
Ahead of the RCB’s crucial IPL 2024 clash with the Delhi Capitals (DC), the RCB head coach Andy Flower showered rich praise on the team’s captain Du Plessis, and batting superstar Kohli for their exemplary leadership, which has been instrumental in the team's resurgence lately in this season.
Flower said that the rest of the RCB team has been outstanding under the guidance of Kohli and du Plessis in the later stage of the ongoing IPL 2024. After losing six games on a trot, the RCB returned to winning ways outstandingly and are in a good place to qualify for the IPL 2024 Playoffs.
Andy Flower credited Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis for RCB's revival in the IPL 2024
However, RCB will have to win all remaining matches to secure their spot in the IPL 2024 Playoffs, and along with that, some results should fall their way. RCB's next challenge awaits them in a crucial face-off against Delhi Capitals (DC) on May 12 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Kohli and Du Plessis would be certainly hungry to get those two crucial points against the DC in Bengaluru on Sunday. Ahead of the RCB vs DC encounter, Flower credited the team's turnaround to Kohli and du Plessis, who have led the team from the front with their stellar performances.
Andy Flower said on the RCB Podcast: “Faf and Virat particularly have led from the front with their actions, and the rest of the team have been outstanding. I think we have seen an uptick in the way that we've bowled in the powerplay, and I think that's been led by Siraj and Yash Dayal. Both have been very skilful and courageous with the new ball.”
It’s the Delhi Capitals challenge in a relatively cooler Namma Bengaluru, and our stars are ready to carry the winning momentum forward and bag those✌️points. 👍

Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis share thoughts on RCB's comeback
Meanwhile, RCB skipper Faf du Plessis, in a recent conversation on the RCB podcast, admitted that there is always pressure in cricket, regardless of whether a team is winning or not. He further expressed his satisfaction as the skipper that the RCB is finally playing the style of cricket they have aspired to for a long time. The skipper also mentioned that their turnaround brings him a sense of contentment and happiness in his camp, as they are finally doing justice to themselves on the field.
On the other hand, Virat Kohli said on the RCB podcast: “What we ended up achieving as a team, as a cultural change, is always going to be a matter of pride for me because a tournament happens for a certain period of time. But a culture happens over a long period of time. And for that, you need consistency: you need more character than just winning.”
