Virat Kohli was involved in a heated exchange with the on-field umpire during the game between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Delhi Capitals at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday (May 12).

The incident took place in the very second over of the Delhi Capitals' innings as they were chasing 188. On the first ball of the over, Mohammed Siraj bowled a brilliant inswinging yorker to Abishek Porel. The DC opener managed to bring his bat down in time as he dug the ball out towards the third man.

The RCB players, however, were convinced that the ball had hit the shoe first as they appealed for an lbw decision. The on-field umpire gave his decision in the favour of the batter before RCB decided to go upstairs. However, it did not make any difference as the third umpire gave his decision against RCB as well.

Virat Kohli and his teammates were not at all happy with the call and the former RCB skipper decided to have a chat with the umpire. He as well as captain Faf du Plessis walked up to the umpire to talk over the decision. Virat Kohli's facial expression made it clear that he was not at all impressed with the call as he had an animated talk with the official before walking away.

Talking about the game, RCB were in the driver's seat at the time of writing this report. DC were reeling at 63 for 4 after 7 overs with Shai Hope and Axar Patel batting in the middle for them. Earlier in the game, RCB finished their innings on 187 for 9 thanks to in-form Rajat Patidar's fine 52-run knock.

"Wicket was two-paced when I went in. Ball was holding, especially the slower ball. Have been smarter in selecting which bowlers to go after in the last few games. I try my best to read it from the hand. This target is defendable. Can defend easily if we bowl in good areas," said Patidar after his innings.
