RCB Women takes on Delhi Capitals women in match 17 of WPL 2024 on Sunday, March 10. The match starts at 7.30 pm IST. This is the reverse fixture between the two teams.

RCB Women are heading into this match after their loss to Gujarat Giants in the previous match. Despite the loss, they have managed to hold onto the third position on the table. A win takes them to 8 points and possibly dethrone Mumbai Indians from the second position on the table.

RCB Women led by Smriti Mandhana are yet to win against Delhi Capitals women in the WPL. They lost both games last season. Earlier, this season, they failed to chase down 194 against Delhi and lost the game by 25 runs.

RCB lost their previous game against Gujarat Giants trying to chase 200. The venue has a considerably lower bounce in the pitch than what it was in Delhi. The pitch and the weather conditions are comparatively much different from what it was in Bengaluru.

Teams batting first have won the first four games in Delhi. This seems to be the pattern for the remaining games as well. The captain who wins the toss will back their batters to put up a big score and put the chasing team under pressure. A score between 180-200 is getable as Delhi and Gujarat Giants proved.

RCB has kept their playing combination the same since their win against UP Warriorz. They played the same XI against Gujarat and will back them to deliver against DC Women as well.

Smriti Mandhana (C)

Unlike last year, Smriti is amongst the runs this season. So far she has scored 243 runs at an average of 40.50 this season. She scored 74 in the previous match against DC and will back herself to score another big one.

Sabbhineni Meghana

Meghana failed to get going in the last match. However, moving to open the batting has provided enough depth to the batting lineup with Sophie Devine batting in the middle order.

Ellyse Perry

Perry will bat at three. She scored 24 against the Giants after scoring her first fifty of this season against UP Warriorz. She has scored 157 runs this season so far.

Sophie Devine

Devine scored 23 in the last game against Gujarat Giants. She has yet to score a fifty-plus score in this edition of the WPL. She has taken five wickets with the ball.

Richa Ghosh (WK)

Hard-hitting Richa Ghosh can bat at five. She has played a few useful knocks including a 62 in the match against UP Warriorz. She scored a good 30 off 21 balls in the last game.

Georgia Wareham

Wareham will slot in six. She showcased her all-round skills in the last game scoring 48 off 22 balls and taking 1 for 36 with the ball. She has taken six wickets in six games so far this season.

Sophie Molineux

Molineux has picked up seven wickets in six games so far in WPL 2024. Mandha can use her against Meg Lanning who she knows well. She can be the punt that the skipper can use to dismiss the opposition skipper.

Simran Bahadur

Bahadur has been excellent in the field for the RCB Women. She scored just one run in the very first opportunity she got with the bat this season. The Delhi girl has been athletic and acrobatic on the field.

Asha Sobhana

Asha is one of RCB’s major weapons with the ball. She has taken seven wickets in six games so far. She has blown hot and cold since the fifer she took against UP Warriorz. The leggie bowled just one over in the previous match.

Ekta Bisht

Bisht will be another left-arm spinner for RCB Women. She made her WPL debut in the last game. Her lower-trajectory release of deliveries might just be perfect for this low-bouncy pitch in Delhi. She can trap batters with her round-arm action. She went for 32 off three overs in her previous game.

Renuka Singh Thakur

Thakur concludes RCB’s predicted playing XI for this match. She has taken three wickets overall in the WPL and just two this season. The pacer went for 34 runs off her four overs against the Giants.
