The Mumbai duo of Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav’s departure to England is set to be delayed after both players were sent into isolation for being a close contact to Covid infected Krunal Pandya.
As many as eight close contacts were traced by the medical team after all-rounder Krunal Pandya tested positive for Covid on the morning of the second ODI.
Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar were among those eight close contacts and while they tested negative for Covid, they are currently isolating and were unavailable for the second T20I that took place on Wednesday night.

Shaw and Suryakumar were roped in as replacements for the Test series in England after the duo of Avesh Khan and Washington Sundar joined opener Shubman Gill in the injury list.
The duo was scheduled to leave for England immediately after the T20I series which will get over on Thursday night.
But with them currently isolated, they will now depart only after all the formalities are completed.
“They will travel to England when the formalities are completed,” an official told IANS.
Meanwhile, with as many as eight players unavailable, Team India was forced to field just five batters in the second T20I, which they eventually lost by 4 wickets.
The likes of Arshdeep Singh, Sandeep Warrier, Sai Kishore, Ishan Porel, and Simarjeet Singh, all of whom had traveled with the team as standby players, were added to the main squad and it remains to be if they get to play in the decider on Thursday.
