For the second time in a row in the ongoing India vs Bangladesh Test, captain Rohit Sharma failed to lead his team from the front. The right-handed batsman failed to score big in the second innings too at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

In the first innings, Rohit Sharma was the first Indian wicket to fall. Hasan Mahmud sent back the veteran batsman for just 6 runs. He had gone for a defensive shot but ended up edging the ball to the fielder at the second slip. Fortunately, his failure did not cost India big as the hosts went on to recover from a poor position and posted a competitive total of 376 runs.

Rohit Sharma had the chance to make amends in the second innings. The momentum was firmly on India's side when he and Yashasvi Jaiswal came out to open the innings on day two. He started his innings on a promising note by hitting the first ball he faced for a four.

However, the India opener could score only 1 more run before being dismissed by Taskin Ahmed in the third over. The Bangladesh pacer came up with a brilliant delivery to give his team a much-needed early breakthrough.

With Rohit Sharma failing to impress for the second time in the match, the fans were quick to take shots at him. Here are some of the reactions to Rohit's failure with the bat in the ongoing IND vs BAN Test.

At the time of writing this report, India were on 35 for 2 with their overall lead extended to 262 runs. 13 runs after Rohit's departure, Nahid Rana dismissed Jaiswal for 10 to reduce India to 28 for 2. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli were batting at the time of writing the report.

Rohit Sharma & Co. take charge:

Earlier in the day, the bowlers put India in the driver's seat by bowling out Bangladesh for a modest total of 149 runs. Bangladesh were reeling at 40 for 5 at one stage before a 51-run stand between Shakib Al Hasan and Litton Das steadied the ship.

The Tigers kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were bowled out for just 149. Shakib top-scored for his side, scoring 32. For India, Jasprit Bumrah starred with the ball, taking four wickets while Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep, and Ravindra Jadeja picked up two wickets each. Earlier in the game, India recovered from 144/6 to post 376 runs.
