PM Narendra Modi asks this question to Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli was having a horrible tournament before the final. The 35-year-old had scored just 75 runs in seven matches before the final and was under huge pressure to deliver in the big game.

Kohli rose to the occasion and delivered with a brilliant 76 off 59 balls, which included 6 fours and 2 sixes. He was also adjudged Player of the Match in the final for his valuable knock.

During the meet-and-greet session with the Prime Minister, Virat Kohli was asked about his thinking before going to bat as he was going through a bad patch.

Virat Kohli delivers under pressure

India had slumped to 34-3 in the final and the pressure increased even more on Kohli as India looked upon him to deliver at the big stage.
Kohli didn't disappoint and made sure to take India to an excellent score despite a poor start.

Although he started his innings aggressively with three fours in the first over bowled by Marco Jansen, he molded his game according to the match situation and made sure the other batters could score freely while around him.

His innings proved to be crucial in the end as India won the match narrowly by 7 runs. Along with Kohli, Axar Patel and Shivam Dube also made valuable contributions with the bat.

But it were the Indian bowlers who rose to the occasion when the team needed them to deliver. With 30 needed off 30 balls and Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller at the crease, South Africa were in the driver's seat.

But Jasprit Bumrah's sensational second spell ensured the Proteas were pushed back. Bumrah have away just 6 runs in his two overs in his second spell, while also picking up the wicket of Marco Jansen. His overall match figures read 4-0-18-2.

Bumrah was also adjudged Player of the Tournament for his brilliant performances throughout the tournament. The right-arm quick picked up 15 wickets in 8 matches at an outstanding economy rate of 4.17.

Along with Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh picked up 2 wickets in the final while Hardik Pandya took 3 wickets while also bowling the final over of the match.
