The Mumbai Indians (MI) are taking on the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the 20th match of the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025) on Monday, April 7.
The high-octane match between the Hardik Pandya-led MI and the Rajat Patidar-led RCB is being hosted by the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Mumbai Indians have once again lived up to their reputation of starting poorly in the Indian Premier League. They have faced three crushing defeats in their first four matches of the competition against the Chennai Super Kings, Gujarat Titans, and Lucknow Super Giants.
Their only victory came against the Kolkata Knight Riders at home as they clinched a dominant win. MI have a lot of concerns in their camp, but the biggest one has been the failure with the ball and bat in the powerplay overs.
They would be hoping to change it with the return of modern-day bowling legend Jasprit Bumrah as well as former skipper Rohit Sharma, who missed the last match due to an injury.
Talking about RCB, who are also known for being slow starters, have got off to a good start this time around, having registered dominant wins over Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super before losing a home game to Gujarat Titans.
RCB have a solid batting line-up to take on the MI bowling attack at the Wankhede and their pace-bowling unit also has the capability to trouble the MI batters. Talking about the head-to-head record, MI have an edge of 19-14 over RCB.
IPL 2025: Mumbai Indians win the toss and opt to bowl first
Speaking at the toss, MI skipper Hardik Pandya said that the dew factor played a key role in their toss decision and confirmed the return of Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah to the playing XI. He said:
"We are gonna bowl first. This looks like a good track, dew might come in later. When dew comes, the wicket gets better. It always plays well for both teams. Time to get some good cricket behind us and do the right things. Mumbai has always been supporting us. Playing at home makes it different. The crowd is behind you and you are aware of the conditions. Jassie (Bumrah) is back and so is Ro (Rohit)."
Meanwhile, Rajat Patidar said that the toss decision doesn't matter too much to them. He said:
"It's a typical Mumbai wicket, will be good to bat. It's important to play good cricket. Bowling unit, it's difficult to bowl here but I am very confident. We have played a lot of cricket, it's pretty clear what we need to do at every venue. We are playing with the same team."
