The list of impact players nominated for the 63rd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 between the Mumbai Indians (MI) and Delhi Capitals (DC) has been revealed.
Hardik Pandya's Mumbai Indians and Faf du Plessis' Delhi Capitals are playing their 13th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Wednesday, May 21, at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

The final phase of the marquee Indian T20 league consists of several dead rubbers before the playoffs stage, but the match between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals differs.
MI vs DC clash holds high stakes as these two teams are fighting for the fourth and final position in the playoffs, and the result of the match between them will all but determine who will be the 4th team to get qualified.
Mumbai Indians find themselves in a tricky position as they will be in action on the fifth day after the IPL 2025 resumption and play their first match in over two weeks.
They faced a defeat in their previous nail-biting and rain-hit contest against the Gujarat Titans (GT) and now find themselves in a do-or-die situation. A victory here would guarantee them a playoffs spot, and a defeat will keep them alive, but things will only get harder.
When MI and DC clashed last time, the stunning delivery from Mitchell Santner to dismiss Karun Nair and a hat-trick of run-outs in the end completely changed the fortunes of both teams, and the 5-time champions started dominating, and Delhi's performance went downhill.
Delhi Capitals would be hoping to take revenge for that defeat, but it won't be easy as they completely lost the momentum after starting the competition with four back-to-back wins.
If Delhi Capitals want to qualify for the playoffs, they ideally need two wins out of two, and a loss will knock them out of the competition. One more thing to worry about for DC, is the yellow alert issued in Mumbai as a washout will only diminish their playoffs hopes.
Talking about the head-to-head record, Mumbai Indians hold a 20-16 edge over Delhi Capitals in 36 matches, and at the Wankhede Stadium, they lead by 7-3.

Speaking at the toss, DC stand-in skipper Faf du Plessis confirmed the absence of Axar Patel due to illness. He said:
"Unfortunate for him, really sick in the last two days. Playing a good team today, we are ready for it."
Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya said that they also wanted to bowl first. He said:
"It's been under covers for a couple of days. We would have liked to bowl as well, but it's okay."
