In Match Number 66 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC) are going head-to-head with each other at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Shreyas Iyer-led Punjab Kings and Faf Du Plessis-led Delhi Capitals have officially named the impact players as well as the playing XIs for the dead-rubber match of the IPL 2025 on Saturday, May 24.
When these two teams met the last time in the Indian Premier League 2025, the match was called off due to unforeseen circumstances and the players were evacuated from the Dharamsala Stadium.
Punjab Kings were batting first in that match, and their in-form opening duo of Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya had built a solid stand, with the team eyeing a colossal total.
However, the match was called off, and now it will be replayed. PBKS would once again look to replicate the magic created by openers in Dharamsala, but this time at a new venue.
A lot has changed since that match on May 8, as the top four teams have already been finalized, with Punjab Kings being one of them, and the Delhi Capitals, who were once hot contenders for the top two finish, have been knocked out.
DC will now just aim to finish their campaign on a high, but PBKS have a lot to play for, with the top two teams yet to be finalized. Shreyas Iyer-led side need to win their remaining matches against DC and MI to seal a top-two finish and get two bites at the cherry, but things won't be easy for them.
Talking about the head-to-head record between the Punjab Kings and the Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League history, PBKS hold a very slight edge of 17-16 over DC. Also, one match between the PBKS and DC got tied in the Indian Premier League.
IPL 2025: Delhi Capitals opt to bowl
Speaking at the toss, DC stand-in skipper Faf Du Plessis said that they were 50-50 about the toss decision but opted to bowl because of their team combination. He said:

Meanwhile, the Punjab Kings skipped Shreyas Iyer said that they are happy to qualify but not satisfied. He stated:
"Defintely happy faces. I am not satisfied and content."
