Revealed: Why are Travis Head, Jaydev Unadkat not playing today's match for SRH against LSG in IPL 2025?

In a huge blow for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), the explosive Australia National Cricket Team opening batsman Travis Head and India National Cricket Team left-arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat are not featuring in the 61st match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
The match between the Lucknow Super Giants and the Sunrisers Hyderabad is currently underway at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Monday, May 19.

Travis Head ruled out of the LSG vs SRH IPL 2025 match
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, the Sunrisers Hyderabad head coach, Daniel Vettori, provided a concerning update about the star batter Travis Head.
He revealed that the left-handed batter unfortunately tested positive for COVID-19, and he could not travel to India on time for the resumption of the Indian Premier League 2025. Vettori also revealed that Head would arrive in India on Monday morning.
Travis Head has had a below-par season with the bat in the Indian Premier League 2025, as in 11 matches he managed to score just 281 runs at an average of 28.10 and a strike rate of 156.11.
He is the third leading run-getter for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the ongoing season, behind Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich Klaasen.
Jaydev Unadkat is on a personal leave - Pat Cummins
Speaking at the toss, the SRH skipper Pat Cummins said that Travis Head is currently in the team hotel. He also revealed that the star pacer Jaydev Unadkat will be missing the clash against LSG as he is on personal leave. He said:
"Travis Head is in his hotel room, so he is missing out. We have got Harsh Dubey playing his first game, and Jaydev Unadkat is on a personal leave, so Taide comes in as well."
SRH added Nitish Kumar Reddy, Harsh Dubey and Kamindu Mendis to their playing XI, leaving out the likes of Sachin Baby, Abhinav Manohar, and Jaydev Unadkat.
We haven't played to our potential - Pat Cummins
Pat Cummins further said that they have not played to their full potential in the Indian Premier League 2025 and would want to change that in the last few matches. He stated:
"We haven't played to our potential. Through a couple of injuries gives us the opportunity to try a few new guys playing their first game. It feels like we have unfinished business. The team has been brave, we have got a great bunch of players but we haven't fired as we would have liked."
Meanwhile, the Lucknow Super Giants skipper Rishabh Pant said that he wants his players to give their 100 percent in the remaining matches to give the team a chance to finish in the top four. He said:
"The only mindset we are looking as a team is to play one match at a time and giving our 100 percent. I feel as a team we have regrouped really well. We are in good space as a team. The only change is that Will O'Rourke is making his IPL debut."
