Rinku Singh Is Surely Going To Play T20 World Cup At No. 6 - Kris Srikkanth

Indian batsman Rinku Singh has been one of the best picks as a finisher for Team India in the T20I format. The young left-handed batsman has inspired with his performance in a short period and he also played a brilliant role in the IND vs AFG 3rd T20I and added 190 runs with captain Rohit Sharma. Rinku played an unbeaten innings of 69* runs and slammed a total of 6 sixes in his innings.

Former Indian player Kris Srikkanth has heaped praise on Rinku Singh and wants him to play at number six in T20Is for India. While speaking on his YouTube channel, Srikkanth stated that Rinku shall play for India in the T20 World Cup 2024. Srikkanth also added that Rinku is playing the role of a finisher well and is demolishing the opposition bowlers.

Kris Srikkanth said, “Rinku Singh definitely should be in the XI. In the end overs, he is taking off and demolishing opposition bowlers. Only he is capable of doing it. Look at the way he is remaining unbeaten in T20I matches. He is surely going to play the World Cup. NO. 6 is Rinku Singh for sure.”

Kris Srikkanth also heaped praise on Rinku Singh’s innings during the 3rd IND vs AFG T20I match and stated that the batter is enjoying his time in the middle. Kris Srikkanth said, “Rinku Singh, what a player! He is enjoying himself in the middle. He effortlessly hit sixes. Terrific knock.”

Rinku Singh performed brilliantly for the Kolkata Knight Riders and in domestic cricket. Rinku slammed 474 runs from 14 matches and scored runs at an average of 59.25 in IPL 2023. Rinku also hit a total of four half-centuries in the last edition of the cash-rich league, his highest score was 63*.

It was Rinku Singh‘s last-over heroics against Gujarat Titans when he smashed 5 sixes in the last over and helped his team win the match from an almost-lost position. Kolkata Knight Riders needed 28 runs to win from the last five balls and any miracle could have only helped them win the match. Rinku Singh smashed Yash Dayal for five sixes and played an unbeaten innings of 48 runs.

With the T20 World Cup coming up, Rinku Singh will be in the plans of the Indian cricket team selectors and he probably deserves a place in India’s squad for the upcoming ICC tournament. Rinku has played a total of 15 T20I matches for the Indian cricket team and has hit 356 runs at a strike rate of 176.24.

India have not won an ICC tournament in the last 10 years and the selectors have been building the core team of the T20 World Cup for a long time. The Indian team have also not won a T20 World Cup since 2007 and will aim to bring back the trophy home after 16 years.

With the return of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the Indian T20I side, India’s chances of winning the T20 World Cup have increased. India are once again the favorites to lift an ICC title after 10 years.
