Rinku Singh's omission from India's T20 World Cup 2024 squad came as a huge surprise not only for him but also for the experts and cricket fans around the country.
It was a huge disappointment for the cricketer who had performed exceptionally well over the past year in the T20I format.
But India's huge amount of talent ensured that Rinku still had to wait for his maiden World Cup opportunity despite brilliant performances with the bat. The return of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli back into the T20I set-up also played a role in it.
After the announcement of the squad, Rohit Sharma walked up to Rinku and provided his support behind him. Recently, Rinku revealed the chat between him and Rohit Sharma.

Rinku Singh reveals Rohit Sharma's golden words
During a conversation with News24, Rinku revealed how Rohit Sharma's golden words encouraged him to overcome his omission from the T20 World Cup 2024 squad. According to Rinku, Rohit advised him to keep working hard as he is still young.
"Yes, he came up and explained to me that I am still young. He said that I would have a lot of World Cups in the future and advised me to keep working hard. There is no problem. There is a World Cup every two years. Focus on those World Cups and don't be disappointed. That's what he explained to me," Rinku said.

Rinku has impressive numbers in T20I cricket where he has scored 418 runs in 23 T20Is at an average of 59.71 and a strike rate of 174.16. He has scored two fifties in the format.
During the chat, Rinku also revealed that he likes playing under Rohit Sharma as he is very supportive. Rinku has played three T20Is under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, during the T20I series against Afghanistan earlier this year.
Marathon Partnership between Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh
Both Rohit and Rinku had a great partnership in the third T20I against Afghanistan in Bengaluru. India was in trouble at 22-4 when Rinku walked into bat and had his captain Rohit Sharma at the other end.
Both stitched together a marathon partnership of 190 runs off just 93 balls and helped India reach a score of 212-4 in 20 overs.
Both of them remained unbeaten till the end. Rohit Sharma scored 121* off 69 balls while Rinku Singh remained unbeaten on 69 off 39 balls.
The match turned out to be a classic as Afghanistan matched India and went on to score 212-6. The match went to the Super Over but unfortunately, it was a tie as well.
The result was finally decided by the second Super Over when India kept calm and held the nerves to clinch a thriller.
