Rinku Singh takes a sensational catch to dismiss Aiden Markram in LSG vs KKR clash

Kolkata Knight Riders batter Rinku Singh is on fire tonight, as he has now made an impact on the field after batting his way through to the end for the Knight Riders.

Just when Lucknow Super Giants were looking to settle on the batting partnership between skipper Rishabh Pant and opener Aiden Markram, a magic moment from Rinku Singh has helped the three-time champions bounce back into the contest.

The Kolkata Knight Riders, on the contrary, struggled to score runs at the start of their innings, but Rinku Singh, who spent some time on the crease later, helped the Knights in the death, putting on a 60+ partnership for the eighth wicket with Sunil Narine.

Rinku Singh's astonishing effort provides a game-saving breakthrough for KKR

For the Kolkata Knight Riders, whenever the term "game-saving" has been used, the man has been Rinku Singh, who has stepped up for them. Having already proven it on several occasions before, he did it in the last game against the Rajasthan Royals towards the back end of the innings.

On the other hand, he did a remarkable job on the field as he took a spectacular grab to dismiss Aiden Markram, who was looking to settle in the innings. With such a small total, KKR cannot afford to build partnerships, and Rinku was more responsible for that breakthrough.

Attempting to help over the long off-field, Aiden Markram did not get the elevation on that occasion, and Rinku, despite not being one of the tallest on the field, took the catch, kept it within play, and then returned to complete the catch safely.

Sunil Narine dismisses Rishabh Pant, hands KKR a chance to bounce back in the game

After the fall of Aiden Markram's wicket when Cameron Green struck in his second over, Sunil Narine returned to dismiss the Lucknow Super Giants skipper Rishabh Pant for the first time in the history of the IPL.

Pant dispatched him to fence off the first ball, and Narine replied with a tighter line and length, but the LSG skipper had no intentions of holding back. While he attempted a reverse sweep, the ball took a slight deflection off his gloves and was caught sharply by the wicket-keeper Tim Seifert.

The wicket-keeper forced the captain to go for the review, and as they challenged the decision from the field umpire, the TV umpire reversed the call and ruled Rishabh Pant out.

Varun Chakravarthy's defensive approach produced the crucial wicket of the West Indian southpaw

Varun Chakravarthy, the player of the match from Kolkata Knight Riders' previous games against the Rajasthan Royals, had gone for runs until he stepped up with a new strategy against the West Indian southpaw who has been looking for touch throughout this season.

Nicholas Pooran has been backed by the Lucknow Super Giants management; however, he is yet to fire in this edition of the competition. After hitting a six off Chakravarthy, he played three dot balls before falling to the trap set by the leggie, where he was forced to cut hard at a ball far outside the off-stump while he kept a tight field in a catching position.
